Job Description
The Cybersecurity & Technology Controls (CTC) group at JPMorgan Chase aligns the firm's cybersecurity, access management, controls and resiliency teams. The group proactively and strategically partners with all lines of business and functions to enable them to design, adopt and integrate appropriate controls; deliver processes and solutions efficiently and consistently; and drive automation of controls. The group's number one priority is to enable the business by keeping the firm safe, stable and resilient.
As an experienced professional in our CTC organization, you'll enable a highly motivated team dedicated to designing, developing, and delivering architecture services to strengthen our security operations and the business. You'll use your communication skills to give guidance, implement best practices, promote collaboration, and foster integration across the CTC Architecture team. You'll keep management, executive directors, managing directors and stakeholders in the loop. As part of JPMorgan Chase & Co.'s global team of technologists and innovators, your work will have significant impact, both on us as a company, as well as our clients and our business partners around the world.
As a Scrum Master/Agility Lead, you will be responsible for driving repeatable program management and Agile delivery practices across the CTC Architecture team in concert with larger Security Assurance team. You are to be a team facilitator and be responsible for bringing the team together to deliver and to continually improve the team's performance. You will track the team's work, remove roadblocks and work with management to prioritize tasks. You will also be training, coaching, and directing the team on Scrum and Agile methodology adoption. You will need a start-up mentality to drive the team to move quickly with focus and be able to develop meaningful relationships across the team and beyond. Our book of work consists of key deliverables including both operational process changes, strategic direction for the team, managing execution of the solution across project partners. These engagements will require attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, delivery focus, partnership and at times work will be time sensitive in nature.
Key Responsibilities

  • Introduce rigor and discipline into the team's management of key initiatives and workstreams through standardized project management practices
  • Lead and facilitate Scrum work, Sprint planning, Standups, etc. for the team
  • Coach team in the creation and maintenance of their respective backlog
  • Maintain and curate team's book of work and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a collaborative atmosphere
  • Communicate organizational impediments to leadership and clear impediments for the team
  • Create an environment of collaboration within the teams that allows for open dialogue and productive solutions for resolving conflicts
  • Seek opportunities for improvement to the overall effectiveness of the team
  • Bring ideas from professional facilitation, coaching, conflict management, mediation, etc. to mature the team's project management and Agile delivery
  • Ensure partnership with key stakeholders (e.g., Product Lines, Lines of Business, other teams) to ensure projects delivered to reduce friction and/or achieve control outcomes
  • Provide direction to resources involved in project delivery across multiple teams and LOBs
  • Organize and manage communications with stakeholders and senior managers on project execution and delivery. Develop and provide ongoing project reports, summaries, scorecards and program/project performance trends to senior leaders and stakeholders. Report to senior management on program status and outcomes. Create and maintain JIRA Dashboards with project statuses and issues.
  • Maintain the team's JIRA Service Desk and any other work intake/request services or channels
  • Contribute to and maintain team Confluence pages explaining team services and capabilities.


Skills & Expertise
This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

  • Knowledge and understanding of cybersecurity field (e.g., risk management processes/principles, cyber operations/incident response, threats and vulnerabilities, etc.)
  • Knowledge and understanding of software development and engineering
  • Expertise with and hands-on experience with Agile and Scrum frameworks and their application in a product development and delivery organization
  • Ability to coach and mentor and leverage skills from coaching, facilitation, conflict resolution and more to serve the team(s)
  • Ability to collaborate with and influence people at various levels
  • Ability to thrive in and manage unstructured situations and ambiguity
  • Strong project management and stakeholder relationship management skills
  • Ability to independently lead and drive initiatives to completion and manage risks/issues
  • Experience writing business requirements and grooming user stories with technology partners
  • Experience with JIRA Align is a plus
  • Ability to leverage capabilities across the firm to solve local problems


Key Qualities

  • Strong knowledge of software development practices and toolsets
  • Strong knowledge of Agile and DevOps cultures
  • Experience as a practicing Scrum Master on a team
  • Knowledge of product management techniques (e.g., product road mapping, feature matrix)
  • Ability to demonstrate thought leadership and provide prescriptive, opinionated direction on development practices
  • Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate concepts to developers and senior managers
