The Scrum Master is a key role within SEI's Scrum teams and Agile Community of Practice. The Scrum Master will be assigned to a product team or dedicated project team. SEI's established guidelines will help guide the scrum master, but they will also have the freedom to react to the team's feedback and adjust processes as needed.
SEI Scrum Masters also help drive Agile and Scrum within SEI as well as bringing new perspectives to the larger SEI community

Essential Duties

  • Responsible for the servant leadership role within assigned scrum teams
  • Own the scrum process for the assigned scrum team
  • Ability to meet the teams where they are and help support their journey based on continuous improvement
  • Bring creative ideas to help teams celebrate their success
  • Work with product owners to help support their overall roadmap and recommend additional communication paths
  • Provide formal feedback loops at all levels of planning
  • Take ownership of any project management specific tasks required based on teams overall maturity - i.e. risk logs, status updates to larger community, cross teams coordination, project plan.
  • Be an active member of the Agile Community of Practice
  • Develop and manage individual plan to continue to expand Agile and scrum knowledge
  • Help understand and support current and future Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery and Continuous Deployment (DevOps) within SEI
  • Experience working with offshore and remote team members on a daily basis.

Work Experience

  • Preferred 2-3 years of experience within a Scrum environment



Education

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution



Certificates, licenses and registrations

  • Scrum certification is required.
  • Version One or Jira experience preferred



Other

  • Must be able to travel 0-10% of time.
  • Must be able to lift 20lbs.
  • Typical office setting.
  • Mobility within the office including movement from floor to floor.
  • Travel via plane, car, and metro may be required to perform this job.
  • Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week when business needs warrant
  • Access information using a computer.
  • Effectively communicate, both up and down the management chain.
  • Effectively cope with stressful situations
  • Strong mental acuity
  • Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this job.
  • Other essential functions and marginal job functions are subject to modification.
