The CTO Infrastructure Business Office is looking for a Scrum Master to join us on our ongoing effort delivery efforts and transformation to Agile ways of working. The Scrum Master's primary role is to be a servant leader and coach for the various delivery teams. This person will help educate the team in Lean-Agile, Scrum, Kanban and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), ensuring that the agreed Lean-Agile process is being followed and aligns with The Hartford's Enterprise Business Delivery Model.

The Scrum Master ensures the Scrum team adheres to Scrum Principles and best practices. Coaches the Scrum Team and removes impediments escalating when appropriate. Partners with the Product Owner, IT Delivery Lead and Business leadership to form execution delivery plans and manage progress and facilitates release planning. Partners with a Sr. Scrum Master to Support and facilitate generally one Scrum Team in various functions by fostering Agile values and practices. • Ensures team adherence to agile principles. Provides coaching to the Scrum Team(s) on how to execute the Scrum framework. Organizes and facilitates ceremonies, identifies improvement opportunities to optimize velocity and quality while mitigating risk. Tracks and communicates the overall team progress providing visibility to stakeholders. (Retrospectives, Sprint Planning, etc).

Serves as a filter to remove impediments to progress as identified by the team. Protects the team from outside influences to ensure the team remains focused on Scrum Team priorities. Facilitate team for better creativity and tries to improve the efficiency of the development team. Arranges daily stand-up meetings, facilitates/schedules meetings, demo and decision-making processes in order to ensure quick inspection and proper use of adaptation process. Matrixed reporting, partners to provide coaching/feedback to ensure team success

Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of Agile frameworks likeScrum, Kanban, XP, etc.
  • Working knowledge of Scrum theory, rules and practices
  • Working knowledge of Agile techniques: User Stories, Continuous Integration, Test-driven Development, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Burn-down Metrics, Velocity etc.
  • 2+ years of experience as a Scrum Master
  • Bachelor degree in Communications, Business, Computer Science, or related discipline
  • Strong communication, facilitation, presentation and consensus building skills


Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$83,920 - $125,880
