Job Description:
Position Summary
This role is responsible for guiding and coaching one or more scrum teams on Scrum practices and Agile principles.
The Scrum Master will be responsible for the following:
- Facilitates scrum ceremonies. In a scaled agile model, facilitates scaled agile planning for the team.
- Helps the team navigating and meeting agreements/deliverables such as Definition of Ready, and Definition of Done.
- Ensures the team has a healthy Product and Sprint backlog (partnering with PO).
- Facilitates dependency management/risk management/impediment removal for the team.
- Promotes/facilitates communication and collaboration within the Agile team to support value delivery and Sprint commitments.
- Provides visibility into the Agile team's delivery plans and progress against plan to stakeholders.
- Enables the team to become high performing through collaboration and a relentless focus on continuous improvement including cross-skilling across the team.
- Measures team delivery, maturity, and performance and reviews metrics with the team to identify improvements.
- May mentor other junior scrum masters.
Required Skills
- Scrum Master certification (SAFe Agile)
- Experience being the Scrum Master for at least two years for a Scrum team.
- Experience with multiple Scrum teams in a variety of different contexts (different team sizes, different organizations, different cultures, co-located vs. distributed, etc.)
- Knowledge and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques.
- Experience applying a wide variety of well documented patterns and techniques.
- Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.
Desired Skills
- Second level Scrum Master certification (CSM).
- Experience playing the Scrum Master role for at least 2-3 years for a software development team.
- Knowledge of scaled agile frameworks such as the Scaled Agile Framework for the Enterprise (SAFe).
- A good working knowledge of using an Agile tool such as JIRA Applicable knowledge of Backend Technology.
- Previous experience as a collaborative leader.
- Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
