Job Summary

The Scrum Master is a servant leader who is responsible for providing practice coaching and support to a team of IT professionals and Product Owner. Their primary responsibility is facilitating the major events and processes with a solution delivery team, while also assisting the teams in the frequent delivery of value. They should work closely with the Product Owner in their quest to deploy products that delight and serve our members, staff, and clients. They must understand Lean/Agile Values, Principles, and Practices and have experience applying and adapting them in a demanding and dynamic environment where the competitive landscape drives rapid opportunity. This role will also communicate with stakeholders, escalate impediments, help manage risk, and drive relentless improvement.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities

Essential Tasks/Duties/Responsibilities

Lead teams in execution of a Lean/Agile SDLC Framework including, and not limited to: Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Retrospectives, and Release Planning

Monitor and communicate team-oriented performance indicators such as, and not limited to velocity, capacity, commitments, impediments, issue resolution, throughput, utilization.

Continuously inspect processes used by teams, the IT department and the enterprise, and lead efforts to improve and adapt them to improve organization efficiency and effectiveness.

Other duties as required or assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Have been a member of multiple agile software development teams (not necessarily SM on each).
  • Lead a team as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach for at least a year.
  • Possess a servant leadership personality, (leads by example, rolls up sleeves to contribute as needed).
  • Experience facilitating through conflict and achieve great outcomes and encouraging ongoing dialog
  • A coaching and mentoring approach to cultivate the team's culture.
  • A natural curiosity to explore and try new approaches, technologies and techniques.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of the relationship with the Business partners
  • Be precise, concise and clear in all communication - written and verbal
  • Previous experience with Jira and ServiceNow a plus
