Grove Collaborative is seeking a Regulatory Manager to join our growing Owned Brands (consumer goods) team. Grove’s Owned Brands portfolio is the driving force behind the company’s exponential growth. As the Regulatory Manager, you will lay the foundation for regulatory at Grove, embedding compliance into the product development process. You will report to the Director of Consumer Insights and work in close collaboration with Consumer Science, R&D and Innovation to ensure that our existing portfolio and new products are compliant with regulatory standards. Bay Area preferred but open to remote candidates.

YOUR IMPACT

  • Serve as a regulatory lead across home and personal care products across our 7 brand portfolio. Collaborate with and distill down technical information for internal stakeholders in order to ensure compliance, mitigate risk and problem solve, when needed.
  • Create foundation for regulatory work on the Owned Brands team. Build out documentation and review processes. Work with Innovation Team to embed regulatory considerations into the stage gate process.
  • Review all final product artwork to ensure accuracy, comprehensiveness and compliance with regulatory standards. On a limited basis, engage with legal and consumer science on claims guidance.
  • Serve as the expert on existing regulations (CA Right to Know, INCI nomenclature, CA Prop 65, CFR 111, FLPA, warning statements, allergen disclosures etc) and stay up to date on new regulations, ensuring that Grove will be compliant.
  • Manage relationships with regulatory bodies, including FDA and EPA, to oversee current and new product registrations.
  • Oversee MSDS and SDS requirements for current and new products. Understand current and future requirements and associated compliance timelines.
  • Vitamins and supplements: Work with legal and suppliers to ensure GMP compliance and vet and audit potential new co-manufacturers when needed.

ABOUT YOU

  • 5 years of relevant regulatory compliance experience within consumer product goods, such as home and personal care, OTC or VMS with companies that operate in Omnichannel environment.
  • Experience and knowledge of relevant regulations, such as CA Right to Know Act, Prop 65, 21 CFR 111, 210 & 211, FD&C Act, ISO 22716, ISO 9235, IFRA, INCI Requirements and cGMPs.
  • Experience and knowledge of relevant regulatory bodies and third party agencies, such as FDA, EPA, CPSC, and cGMP.
  • Ability to manage FDA audits, warning letters, and observations - understand problem, identify solutions and work with respective stakeholders to mitigate the issue.
  • Project management and experience with regulatory compliance across cross-functional teams are expected.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and work independently.
  • Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment and meet deadlines for assigned projects.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to effectively work and interact with multifunctional teams.
