Job Description

The Project Manager is a dual focused role both on being the leader of all administrative functions within the PMO and also on managing small to medium projects through our project management framework. This is a great opportunity for a budding project manager that has PMO experience to spread their wings. Goal is to have the accomplished incumbent develop into a full-time member of our Project Management team.

  • Drive value from internal PMO processes in terms that is meaningful to the business units we support, leading process improvements on a recurring calendar cycle, supporting governance committees, and achieving results through others. The areas of responsibility will include, but not limited to, process development for the project portfolio and technology operations, vendor management, contract management, project financial oversight including invoice management, portfolio reporting, and support of recurring governance committees.
  • Manage and lead small to medium projects with appropriate mentorship following the organization's project implementation methodology.



Job Tasks:

  • Provides PMO support in development and advancement of project management across the organization.
  • Supports PMO leadership with coordination and development of content for executive-level meetings and governance committees.
  • Supports PMO leadership and project managers by helping integrate multiple, ongoing projects into a program portfolio to allow greater standardization and efficiency of project management processes, tracking and reporting.
  • Supports PMO operational activities such as IT invoice management, contract management, and PMO website management.
  • Administers PMO toolset based on Planview PPM Pro.
  • Drives increased usage and adoption of project coordination, knowledge management, activity tracking, requirement, issue and risk tracking, and status reporting applications.
  • Assists in Strategic Business Case Development by gathering information from business sponsors and shepherding requests through to business case completion and ultimately, governance approval.
  • Leads a project team that develops designs and installs new enterprise applications, IT technical architecture and infrastructure systems or enhancements to existing systems.
  • Leads one or more small-to-medium projects typically between $100,000 - $1,000,000 following project management methodology from initiation to closure including:
    • Setup, coordination and facilitation of project meetings
    • Leads project communications and reporting
    • Leads development of Project Charters and Project Planning Documents
    • Establishes and maintains project schedules that include deliverables, identified milestone and tasks, resource assignments and time allocations.
    • Responsible for project resource management across projects
    • Develops and monitors project budget including planning, forecasting and reporting.
    • Tracks and measures program/project status and adherence to key milestones.
    • Assists with change control impact analysis.
    • Solicits and analyzes data required for program performance metrics and reporting.
    • Completes Post-project reviews, including measuring project results post-closure.
  • Functions as a liaison between IT and the Business Client, and act as the go-to person that represents the entire project from the planning through deployment. Develops and maintains a productive working relationship with project sponsors, vendors and key clients.
  • Performs operational reviews of IT processes to assess risks and control health.


Develops innovate efficiencies to improve PMO processes across the organization.

Education, Certifications & Experience

Minimum Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Fundamental understanding of project management principles and methodologies: Waterfall, AGILE.



Preferred Education/Certifications:

  • PMP certification or on a path to obtain it



Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year of PMO experience.
  • Experience in meeting / workshop facilitation.
  • Excellence in communications and issue escalation/resolution with executive leadership.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills including superior presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)



Preferred Experience

  • Experience with Planview PPM Pro and Microsoft Project is a plu



  • 5+ years of PMO experience
