About the role:
FIS is looking for a Technology Project Manager I to join our IFS Implementations team. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a well-established and highly functional PMO organization. The Project Manager I will be responsible for managing customer facing and internal FIS projects within the Implementations organization. This position will provide the right candidate with an opportunity to learn how to implement FIS products and how to provide project management support to both internal and external customers.
What you will be doing?
In this role you will be responsible for You will use best-in-breed PM tools to help us deliver products that will change the world of fintech. This will include overseeing the development of new products and services as well as new internal information systems and applications, new technology integrations, and infrastructure build-outs.

  • Planning and coordinating all aspects of technical projects from initiation through delivery.
  • Managing project initiation activities including identifying needs and goals, existing situation, necessary contacts, and access to existing information as needed.
  • Ensuring requirements for internal technology projects align to operational standards.
  • Developing alternate requirements or documenting exceptions as appropriate.
  • Developing, defining, and executing project plans, project scope, activities, schedules, budgets and deliverables.
  • Interacting with product development, technology solutions, service delivery and/or other cross-functional
    teams.
  • Potential travel; anywhere from 10-15% (as needed)


What you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems or business administration or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience. PMP (Project Management Professional) certification not required but encouraged
  • Three years work experience managing technical projects in financial services or a related industry or related technical field, e.g., application development, technology integration, business analysis, client technology consulting.
  • Extensive knowledge of project management standards, processes, procedures and guidelines as well as various IT project methodologies and life cycles.
  • Advanced skills with project management software
  • Prior banking project management experience highly desired
  • Core processing experience (deposit, loan, credit processing etc.)
  • Ability to utilize judgment in decision making process and decisions related to job tasks
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent skills in communicating ideas both verbally and in written form in a clear, concise and professional manner including presentations
