Overview

Knowledge Services is actively seeking a mid-level Project Manager for a long term contract role with our client, the State of IN's Auditor of the State. This role will allow work from home options a few days per week but need to be living in the Indy area.

The Auditor of State is working on a large technology implementation and places a high value on not only implementation, but adoption. The success of the program is multi-faceted, and a diverse team has been assembled to ensure execution. Issues are often sensitive, complex and involve change impacting large, diverse employee groups. Role requires diplomacy, confidentiality, collaboration, planning and delivery of effective solutions. This role will work closely with the Senior Project Manager /Team Lead, vendor consultants, to support agencies and stakeholders through the designated Project activities that span all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Management of project integration
  • Management of project plan using Microsoft Project
  • Obtaining project status during meetings, capturing new decisions, risks, action items
  • Coordinate team of 20-25 resources on a project
  • Support other Project Management or coordination efforts.


Qualifications

Top 3 Skills:
  • The ability to manage a large diverse team to execute a project plan, capturing issues, action items, and risks.
  • Expertise in MS Project & SharePoint (the latter as a user)
  • Familiarity with PeopleSoft, if possible. Familiarity with standard back-office processes: payroll, general ledger, accounts payable, etc. for a large organization. (meaning, even if they don't have direct PeopleSoft experience, if they have managed projects that use these processes, then that would suffice.)

Other Requirements:

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, organized, self-starting, collaborative, creative and dynamic, and will support the leadership team in communicating and driving engagement with its workforce based across multiple agencies.
  • Ability to work in partnership with a number of agency partners and vendor contractors
  • Able to work in a team environment, meet deadlines and take on responsibility and accountability
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Skills in using MS Office Tools and Teams, Visio, MS Project, and SharePoint
  • In depth understanding of Microsoft Project Tool
  • Familiar with detailed testing cycles, including remediation
  • Project Management Professional certification preferred
