The Risk Mitigation Project Manager, Supply Chain is part of our Genetic Sciences Division (GSD). With $6B in revenue and 3,000 employees, GSD provides high value genomic information to assist critical decisions in research and applied markets - Quantitative PCR | Sanger Sequencing | Human Identification | AgriGenomics.

How will you make impact?

This individual will draw on their business and supply chain experience to drive successful completion of initiatives aimed at reducing and/or eliminating risk of supply shortages by managing all aspects of the projects: scope, schedule, finance, risk, quality and resources. The role will engage collaboratively across functions to achieve successful implementation of business processes, tools, and solutions to address raw material supply challenges from changing global events such as tariffs, suppliers' material shortages, or weather-related interruptions.

What will you do?
  • Assist in the creation and drive the execution of long-term and short-term risk mitigation plans that minimize disruptions to manufacturing operations, including setting targets for milestones, adhering to deadlines and allocating resources
  • Coordinate global projects across the procurement, sourcing, and materials planning functions to develop a strong cross functional network, and facilitate alignment with key stakeholders to successfully achieve program deliverables, on time
  • Develop and execute effective communication plans, deliver presentations for key initiatives, facilitate consensus on proposed solutions from key partners and provide implementation updates
  • Articulate the project outcomes in terms of supply and demand balance required to support revenue
  • Lead multiple projects utilizing well organized project management skills to remove barriers and support enterprise and functional objectives
  • Develop innovative ways to effectively address ambiguity and uncertainty affecting the supply chain
  • Utilize business stakeholder inputs and knowledge of existing systems and constraints to drive process improvements
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and goals
  • Monitor and report project progress, adjust schedules and targets of the project, as needed
  • Delegate tasks on the project to team members best positioned to complete them
  • Identify and managing potential risks and liabilities of multiple projects
  • Make effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project
  • Communicate with executives or the steering committee to keep the project aligned with Company goals
  • Motivate people involved in the project to complete tasks on time


How will you get there?
  • 5-7 years of supply chain management experience in Planning, Procurement, or Sourcing.
  • A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Supply Chain Management or other business management discipline or related field.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive and build relationships in a matrix environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, typically initiating own tasks with input/guidance from manager and managing multiple tasks within tight deadlines.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills to translate complex supply chain situations into terms clearly understood by various client groups including senior management.
  • Strong analytical skills combined with practical business and financial acumen.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead matrix project teams of peers and other stakeholders and ability to work well within a matrix environment
  • Ability to work across multiple sites and platforms in a virtual office environment
  • Understanding of SAP® and JDE E1 Oracle® systems
  • Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of tools.
