The Project Manager will manage the workflow of the Science product team's various projects through all phases of product development, from R&D to design and through to product launch and maintenance. A successful project manager will act as the owner of big-picture deliverables, keeping the team aligned on those deliverables and ensuring delivery within the expected timeline and budget, as well as act as a contributor to product development efforts.
A successful project manager will create and track project plans, perform business analysis, develop project estimates, follow Amplify process standards to meet project objectives and manage scope throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities:

  • Craft and maintain clear, illustrative project plans, clearly articulating project deliverables, timelines, risks, and status.
  • Proactively own all milestones of Science product development, ensuring each phase is completed on time and on budget
  • Project manage various high value, high stakes projects including state adoptions, creation of new programs, creation of new features, etc.
  • Monitor activity, resources, budget, progress, and time related to project
  • Create and manage project plans and budgets and keep senior management apprised of project status, issues, risks, and critical decisions at all times
  • Serve as the hub of communication for the product development lifecycle, establishing checkpoints with leadership to communicate project updates, progress toward strategic goals, as well as new product developments
  • Support project teams and ensure they are set up for success by being proactive in identifying risks and tracking and driving mitigation plans for risks and resolution of issues
  • Advise the team on decisions based on considering the balance between scope, quality, time, and budget
  • Work alongside other project managers by identifying and sharing best practices and developing/ improving project tracking tools and processes
  • Apply product knowledge, insights into project status, and knowledge of risks and dependencies to contribute to product development conversations and decisions.


Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in a project management role managing complex, multi-year technical projects with an annual budget exceeding $1M USD
  • Bachelor's degree; equivalent combination of education and comparable work experience
  • Proven ability to successfully organize, prioritize and manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to travel as required


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing 3 or more resources for projects lasting over 6 months
  • 3 years of project management experience in Education or the publishing industry
  • Proven written, oral and presentation skills (for both internal and customer-facing meetings) with the ability to present information clearly and enthusiastically
