This position is for a Project Manager that supports the Publications, Training, and Logistics Services department, with a focus specifically on Publications and Training products. This position requires an individual who has the ability to manage multiple short and long-term projects simultaneously, supports the development of project plans, schedules, and budgets, can facilitate projects tasks with various functional organizations, can forecast and track progress, and identify problems and provide resolutions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supports the development of both commercial and government related project plans, schedules and budgets for projects under their responsibility to ensure adherence to the established program plan, schedule, processes, and overall budget related to earned value.
  • Prepares bid estimates for publications and training products to support future business.
  • Tracks progress and identifies/resolves obstacles to minimize disruption to project schedules.
  • Forecasts project revenues and re-estimates project costs and schedules on a monthly basis.
  • Analyzes data gathered and develops solutions to optimize performance.
  • Maintains and provides progress reports to track progress and ensure that established schedules are met.
  • Identifies and addresses problems and recommends resolutions to ensure the successful completion of projects.
  • Facilitates project tasks with the various functional organizations to ensure alignment with overall project objectives.
  • Oversees and manages the lifecycle and operational aspects of programs, and liaises between program management, project team, and resource management.
  • Reviews status of projects and budgets, manages schedules, and prepares status reports.
  • Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction goals and requirements.
  • Regularly interacts and interfaces with both internal and external customers.
  • Minimal business development responsibilities.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% in support of project responsibilities.


Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

  • Working knowledge of SAP project/network planning and tracking tools.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Project Management (EPM) or Microsoft Project for scheduling.
  • Familiarity with supporting and developing bids.
  • Understanding of Cost Account Manager (CAM) responsibilities.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR
  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements
