We are seeking a Project Manager II to join our Project Management Office to build and manage the work of multi-functional teams.

The Project Manager II will be responsible for developing an excellent understanding of project objectives and ensuring they are delivered consistently to requirements. Building a trusting relationship with stakeholders and their colleagues, run projects directly, monitoring progress, assessing and addressing risks, and working with functional managers to manage resources.

The Project Manager II is key to building a positive team environment. A successful candidate will be great at building relationships and driving team collaboration. Caring deeply about individual development and high-performance standards.

This position will report to the Senior Director, PMO and can be located from one of our offices in the Portland, OR or Kansas City, MO metro area, or fully remote (state-dependent). 


What You’ll Be Accountable For

  1. Manages multiple cross-functional projects of medium to high complexity.
  2. Managing all aspects of projects with direct accountability.
  3. Overseeing project process from planning to completion, including identifying and breaking down the project into stages with realistic timelines.
  4. Building and managing multiple, multi-functional collaborative project and/or work teams.
  5. Ensuring all projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget.
  6. Accurately estimating the work hours and other resources each major project stage needs.
  7. Analyzing project progress and, when necessary, adapting scope, timelines, and costs to ensure that the project team adheres to project requirements.
  8. Monitoring and managing project risk, including documenting, communicating and facilitating resolutions or mitigation plans.
  9. Preparing and delivering presentations to stakeholders and senior leadership.
  10. Developing and maintaining partnerships with outside resources—including third-party vendors and researchers.
  11. Delivering appropriate integration, training and implementation plans and activities.
  12. Collecting and preparing post-mortems at the end of a project to determine successes and opportunities for improvements.
  13. Directly managing Project Coordinators and coaching in project management methodology.

  • Adherence to deadlines & milestones completed: You engage with cross-functional teams to build detailed project plans that consider complex cross functional elements including but not limited to business requirements, product and design requirements, acceptance criteria, testing plans, training and development components, and launch plans to ensure you deliver complex projects on
  • Cost & value variance: Your ability to meet the planned value and anticipated budget prepared at the launch of a project.
  • NPS: Both individual projects and the Project Management Office are assessed on performance, making it critical that each team member maintains positive working relationships, communicates clearly, meets stakeholder’s expectations.

  • You are fanatical about the customer – you have an obvious interest and passion for small businesses.

Your Background

  • 3-5 years of experience executing multiple projects involving internal personnel and cross functional teams with strong knowledge of project and program management methodology, tools, and techniques (PMI and/or PMP preferred)
  • Experience using Asana or equivalent project management platforms.
  • Background working with complex business systems and integration projects preferred.
  • A foundational understanding of software development lifecycle and Scrum.
  • Ability to prioritize and lead projects with strong organizational leadership and people management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, prioritize work, manage time, and respond effectively to a rapidly changing environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of managers, developers, and other subject matter experts.
  • Strong business and technical acumen, and awareness of technology trends.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.


Work Environment

Work takes place in an open office setting. This position requires the ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time, using finger/hand dexterity to manipulate a keyboard/mouse. It requires the ability to communicate confidently and effectively with diverse audiences electronically, in writing, and in person.
