The Project Coordinator will be part of Optum Automation Center of Excellence and will play a key role in driving the project, business processes and supports redesigning processes in line with business requirements and the organization's digital strategy.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects, lead kick-off meetings, and share project status updates with all stakeholders
  • Maintaining and monitor project plans, project schedules, work hours, budgets and expenditures
  • Coordinate and transfer all relevant information from the customer to the respective team
  • Organize, attend and participate in stakeholder meetings
  • Document and follow-up on important actions and decisions from meetings
  • Identify and escalate project roadblocks to leadership
  • Drive work to completion
  • Organize complex efforts into project plans that may cross multiple teams and/or departments
  • Ensure all participants in the project are aware of tasks, deadlines, and expectations
  • Influence team to accomplish goals within timelines committed
  • Provide structure, organization, and documentation skills
  • Schedule meetings, identify critical participants, drive participation and standardize documentation throughout the project cycle
  • Document work in PowerPoint, JIRA, Excel, Word, Outlook and more
  • Frequent and effective communication to ensure management of expectations, timelines and goals
  • Prepare necessary presentation materials and data for meetings
  • Ensure project deadlines are met
  • Provide administrative support as needed
  • Undertake project tasks as required
  • Develop project strategies
  • Assess project risks and issues and provide solutions where applicable
  • Ensure stakeholder views are managed towards the best solution

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience creating and maintaining effective relationships in a professional environment
  • 2+ years of experience of project coordination or project management experience
  • 2+ years of healthcare experience
  • 2+ years of proficiency experience utilizing Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • 1+ years of experience communicating with leadership


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 2+ years of experience utilizing Microsoft Visio
  • 1+ years of experience gathering and working through business and/or technical requirements
  • 1+ years of experience working on Automation or Project Redesign projects
  • 1+ years of experience in the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including Waterfall and/or Agile Methodologies
  • 1+ year of experience with claims processes
  • Experience with the following tools/applications: SQL, Tableau, Jira
  • Experience and understanding of workflow-based logic and conceptualize it as an automated solution

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $54,400 to $97,000. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $60,000 to $106,700. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
