Program Manager at BrainGu (Washington DC)
At BrainGu, the Program Manager focuses on developing and managing a Program’s short term and long term objectives and strategy and assessing how it will impact their department, business, or organization. For each Program, they will define and oversee the Projects needed to reach their targeted goals and work together with internal BrainGu teams and BrainGu customers and clients to meet those goals. They will oversee and coordinate different related Projects within BrainGu to ensure they benefit one another and meet business goals. Main duties include organizing various Programs and activities to improve company efficiencies, building long-term goals for company Projects, and developing Program and Project budgets.
Job Duties:- Lead, advise and engage a $25-50M portfolio with contract delivery teams, business operations staff, and executive team on Program matters, analysis, and review through the entire Program lifecycle
- Strategic oversight, accountability and close partnership with the Project Team & Customer in prioritizing and driving delivery within the Project and across the Program
- Identify, assess, communicate and enable resolution of risks, issues, dependencies and decisions across the Program
- Manage Programs that span multiple technical teams, ensuring complete Program goals are met
- Strategize, implement, and maintain Program initiatives that adhere to organizational objectives
- Develop and manage budget and funding channels for maximum productivity
- Develop an evaluation method to assess Program strengths and identify areas for improvement
- Support the creation and submission of Program funding proposals to guarantee uninterrupted delivery of services
- Work with Project and Program managers to ensure engineering, cyber security, and operational SME resources are available to ensure capability delivery.
- Ensure Program goals are met in areas including customer satisfaction, safety, quality, and team member performance
- Implement and manage changes and interventions to ensure Project goals are achieved
- Meet with stakeholders to provide accurate and timely reporting of Program status through its life cycle
- Accountable for the cost, schedule, and technical performance of the overall Program
- This position may require a US Government Clearance, which requires US Citizenship
- 10 years experience in Program management of the software development lifecycle
- 5+ of those years of successfully implementing and managing SaaS development Programs; strong knowledge of the SaaS business model and its development lifecycle.
- Ability to adjust and apply this experience in a dynamic environment using agile methodologies.
- 5-10 years experience in government Program management execution/acquisition support in a technical field.
- Proven ability to work well and meet commitments with minimal oversight or guidance, to include exceptional time management skills
- Adept at working with matrix organizations for executing and proposing Programs
- Demonstrated ability shaping Program goals and future follow-on work
- Experience managing milestone delivery and invoicing across the entire Program
- Strong collaboration, influence, and negotiation skills to align the organization around prioritization and delivery of Project/Program roadmap.
- Experience with release management lifecycles and Project milestones, keeping up a high velocity in a fast-paced environment.
- Top notch written and oral communication skills, including experience presenting to executive leadership, participating in the sales cycles, evangelizing Project/Program strategy, and handling sensitive escalations.
- Ability to be an influential member of a highly integrated team composed of both technical and non-technical members.
- Well-developed leadership, management, and strategic-thinking skills, with the ability to excite and lead others.
- Confidence and ability to talk directly with engineers and stakeholders across the company at every level
- Proven ability to identify and build strong relationships with and influence decision makers, and maintain long-term customer intimacy
- Experience with USAF and cyber Programs
- Active US Government Security Clearance preferred
- Technical certifications such as CISCO, VMWare, Microsoft, and/or cyber security certification(s) a strong plus
- Experience in DoD Enterprise IT environments and modernization efforts (e.g., Digital Modernization Infrastructure (DMI), Microsoft Teams and/or Office 365 (O365) for DoD)
- Experience and understanding of best practices in deploying services in the Cloud Experience with cloud-based technologies, preferably AWS, such as RDS/Aurora, S3/EFS, Redis, HAProxy, Kubernetes, etc
