Job Description (Posting)

Job Functions & Responsibilities: The Service Delivery Manager is a senior level position with accountability across all aspects of the customer delivery with sizable revenue. The SDM will report to the Service Delivery Director and will be expected to work closely with his offshore counter-parts to manage and drive transition of infrastructure management activities into a remote model, and provide oversight over all aspects of quality and service levels. Specific responsibilities include; Build and manage the various on-site/ off-site teams and direct all related People/ Process and Technology competencies Lead in the technology selection and organizational build-up efforts. Formalize internal process to ramp-up expertise of resources in the offshore centers. Desired Profile Maximum of 8-12 yrs of experience out of which at least 5+ years of IT Operations and Management at management level. Exposure and experience in Managing experts/ technology in the area of: o Unix and Windows OS's / Networks / Databases / Storage / Servers / / Security / Messaging (Exchange/Notes) Experience in IT Outsourcing programs and global delivery models ( onsite / offshore model ) Experience in deployment of Enterprise Management Systems in Complex Organizations preferably using atleast one of HP, CA, BMC, Tivoli or similar EMS solutions Exposure & experience in Managing experts/ technology in the area of: o Mid-range RISC Systems -Sun and HP o Database- Oracle/SQL o Enterprise Management Tools o Networks -Cisco o Intel Systems -Enterprise Windows/ High-end Cluster Server Farms Certification in ITIL Best Practices/ Project Management Institute Strong Leadership, Team Building, and Decision Making skills Expertise in Defining Process & Task Distribution and ensure the implementation within the service Delivery Organization; exposure to ITIL Best Practices is necessary Expertise in Systems and Applications Management with a minimum of 4 years in proactive management of Mission Critical Systems delivering 99.99%-99.999% plus infrastructure availability. Excellent verbal and written communication skills (1.) To ensure customer engagement or satisfaction and referenceability (2.) To plan for Program and Delivery Management and ensure that the agreed deliverables in terms of margin are met. (3.) To anchor process improvementorcompliance (human error reporting) and other organizational initiatives (automation , Lean IT implemetation) (4.) To guide, manage, develop, engage the team therby ensuring employee retention (5.) To ensure upskillor creation of resources through internal academiesor trainings and growth rotation
