Job summary
The Red Hat Consulting team is looking for a Program Manager to join us. In this role, you will work in a designated account and collaborate with the account sales executive, services manager, services technical team, and other Red Hat teams to promote superior delivery and total customer success through Red Hat's consulting, offerings, and adoption. You will manage Red Hat Services and focus on the successful delivery of Red Hat Consulting engagements within your assigned account. As a Program Manager, you will be responsible for understanding your accounts, including customer goals, missions, and politics. You will provide an intense level of program governance to our most strategic accounts to ensure complete customer success. The solutions you will oversee will focus primarily on emerging technology and developer adoption of Red Hat OpenShift. You will participate in engagements that will be limited in duration, with the potential for multiple engagements running concurrently, which will have significant long-term impact on the overall customer success with our line of offerings. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
Primary job responsibilities

  • Serve as an active contributor within the Consulting team
  • Collaborate on and contribute to internal initiatives
  • Provide mentorship for the teams within which you will work
  • Collaborate with multiple business teams within Red Hat, including sales and support teams, which will be key to your success
  • Be responsible for executive-level ownership, communication, and accountability in regard to all external and internal stakeholders
  • Perform detailed management and reporting of account through Red Hat's tools
  • Provide risk and quality control for customers and Red Hat's preparedness
  • Support customer internal marketing, business outcomes, roadmap, and overall vision
  • Strategize and act on delivery practice evolution in accordance with the scale of business
  • Navigate and proactively own escalation procedures to push issues to closure
  • Facilitate the end-to-end implementation of Red Hat Consulting within accounts
  • Structure and manage complex projects surrounding our technologies
  • Understand Red Hat's and customer procurement processes
  • Be responsible for the end-to-end orchestration and implementation of applicable consulting contracts
  • Provide sales and scoping support to assigned customers
  • Attend and host regular meetings with customers to build relationships in a professional and personal manner through on-site meetings and events
  • Contribute to the interviewing process through phone screens and in-person interviews
  • Contribute to hiring events


Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, business, or applicable education
  • Customer-facing field experience, particularly at the executive level
  • Consulting delivery or sales experience
  • Experience managing teams in multiple workstreams
  • Proven presentation skills
  • Risk management skills
  • Experience with cross-functional collaboration
  • Project management certification like Project Management Professional (PMP), Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), or equivalent
  • Periodic travel, following Red Hat's COVID-19 guidelines
