Title: Program Manager (SAFe)

Overview

The Program Manager is a position that will help lead cross-company coordination and management for strategic enterprise-wide initiatives. The PM will align closely and work in partnership with multiple teams, Business, Product Management, Enterprise Architecture, Software Engineering/ R&D, Technical Operations, Client Onboarding, Client Services, and Marketing, on the holistic success of the IHP program. The PM will coordinate with these teams to ensure alignment and progress against the program objectives and targets. The EPM will assist with planning, strategic coordination of technical and business roadmaps, critical dependencies, successes and execution challenges.

Position Summary

The Program Manager position is part of the Enterprise Platform team and reports into the Director, Enterprise Program Management. This position will help lead cross-company coordination and management for strategic enterprise-wide initiatives.

This position will align closely and work in partnership with multiple teams, Business, Product Management, Enterprise Architecture, Software Engineering/ R&D, Technical Operations, Client Onboarding, Client Services, and Marketing, on the holistic success of the IHP program. The EPM will coordinate with these teams to ensure alignment and progress against the program objectives and targets.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Expose problems and constraints to the organization, including senior leaders, and work together on a resolution.
  • Drive relentless improvement via Program retrospectives and demos
  • Escalate and track impediments
  • Facilitate regular synchronization meetings to manage and monitor dependencies within the program
  • Coach Scrum Masters and teams on agile best practices and improvements
  • Facilitate Program Increment Planning and Planning Readiness
  • Manage Objectives, track progress and build/maintain related lean-agile metrics. Use empirical data to help the organization determine opportunities and improvements
  • Understand the opportunities and challenges of continuously aligning a large development program and effectively coordinate Program activities

Minimum requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Project or Program Manager (strong preference for Agile-Scrum, SAFe certification, SDLC experience)



Critical Skills:

  • SAFe certification or implementing SAFe across an organization
  • Experience working with remote teams in an agile environment and directly with product managers and product owners
  • Good understanding of, and experience with, technical systems; ability to identify technical solutions for business problems
  • Understand the software development life cycle



Additional Knowledge and Skills:

  • Effective verbal/written communication skills, strong listening, negotiation and facilitation skills and the ability to develop and deliver presentations
  • Demonstrated ability to work with multiple teams within multiple geographic locations to meet demanding deliverables
  • Self-motivated, able to work remotely, innovative and a detailed oriented professional with project management experience
  • SAFe experience and/or certifications such as the SPC, PO/PM or SSM preferred
  • Ability to travel and estimated 25%



Education:

Bachelor's degree or relevant experience in lieu of formal education

The salary range for Jersey City, NJ is $X - $X.
