About the team: 

Convoy’s industry-leading Carrier Performance team drives continuous improvement in the service provided to shippers and experience of carriers. We view Carrier Performance as a lever to provide incredible customer service to our customers, decrease risk, improve margin, and unlock growth. We provide excellent service to shippers through a network of high performing carriers by setting rigorous performance standards, assessing performance, and building a fair and transparent process to manage to those standards. We partner with carriers to continuously improve their performance, allowing Convoy to exceed shipper expectations while opening access for carriers to increased earning potential. We address issues at an industry, shipper, and Convoy level that impact a carrier’s ability to provide a high level of service. The team supports emerging programs and program development by operationalizing and scaling performance requirements. We work closely with teams across the organization and pride ourselves in deeply understanding Convoy’s fast-moving business.


About you:

You are an experienced program owner who thrives in taking actionable insights from data to design, experiment, and iterate business enhancing changes. You excel in bringing clarity to what is ambiguous in a fast-paced and dynamic environment! You excel when able to own your domain end-to-end, collaborating with teams across the company to define a problem area, build a strategy to deliver it, and achieve your goals. You will:

  • Drive organizational, product, and process improvements. Design and execute complex experiments to test new processes and practices to drive shipment performance to meet customer expectations and Convoy financial goals. 
  • Own key performance quality metrics and create an annual roadmap that iteratively optimizes execution.
  • Develop scalable solutions and key performance indicators to drive shipment performance and mitigate financial impacts. Perform complex data investigation to identify opportunities and inform priorities.
  • Partner with product and engineering to unlock business opportunities by improving performance capabilities and processes
  • Partner cross-functionally to operationalize and scale new performance requirements and policies for emerging programs. 

We're looking for someone who has:

  • 3+ years of program management experience; preferably in transportation, technology, or start-ups.
  • Significant experience in using data or partnering with Data Science resources to build and present actionable insights, develop trackable metrics, produce proposals, and advance and automate processes.
  • The ability to see around the corner and find solutions for the present while building for Convoy’s future.
  • Strong operational mindedness and can drive concrete programs with an ability to excel in a dynamic work environment.
  • High emotional intelligence and exceptional communication skills with the ability to empathize, collaborate, and partner with a diverse set of stakeholders including shippers, carriers, third-party vendors, and teams across all of Convoy
  • Strong analytical skills and experience using relevant tools (SQL, Excel and/or similar), with the ability to self-service and converse with Data Science partners.
  • The ability to think and act both strategically and tactically in unstructured problem space
  • The ability to self motivate, think creatively, problem solve and manage multiple tasks and deliver results in a collaborative, start-up environment with changing requirements and priorities.
