About the team:

The Shipper Insights team develops and delivers world-class FTL freight / supply chain insights that solve meaningful customer problems. We work across Convoy’s demand team to identify customer needs, analyze data, and develop recommendations for our customers to improve performance, reduce costs, and eliminate waste.


About you:

The Program Manager (New Shippers), Shipper Insights will focus on developing and delivering insights to high potential shippers early in their relationship with Convoy in order to accelerate account growth and ensure Convoy is meeting shipper expectations.


You will report to the head of Shipper Insights, working with our Sales team, and collaborating closely with our Data Science, Product, and Marketing orgs. You will combine Convoy’s deep data foundation with customer knowledge and a broad market perspective to deliver benchmarks, diagnostic analytics, look-ahead perspectives for each new account.

You Will:

  • Own and drive the Shipper Insights strategy for high potential, early-stage accounts -- e.g.
  • Develop, execute, and deliver insights focused on new accounts such as market / industry benchmarks, and leading indicators of cost / quality / performance
  • As Convoy gains experience and data for each account, better tailor insights specific to customer performance and needs
  • Effectively guide and collaborate with partners in Data Science, Engineering and Product to fashion insight-related products for early-stage customers
  • Help mentor and coach the front-line sales team on incorporating insights into sales motions throughout the customer lifecycle
  • Ensure a long-term foundation for strong, collaborative customer relationships driven by data and insights 

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • BS or Advanced Degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Operations Research, a natural science or equivalent quantitative subject
  • 10+ years in a top-tier tech, consulting, or transportation company where you leveraged quantitative analysis, analytics, and data science in order to solve business problems, preferably in a customer- or vendor-facing role
  • As part of above experience, 3+ years in the truck-load freight / logistics industry working with shippers or carriers on supply chain performance, data analytics, vendor management, and/or business development
  • An experienced storyteller, capable of distilling complex ideas and data into simple, digestible, and compelling narratives
  • Strong analytical skills – good at creating and analyzing business information, creating dashboards, tracking key business metrics. Exceptional with Excel/Data management tools
  • A proven ability to effectively translate problems into scalable programs that span both business process and technology solutions
  • Comfort facilitating collaboration and commitment across disparate groups with competing priorities
  • High degree of comfort with ambiguity, with the ability to think and act both strategically and tactically in unstructured problem spaces
  • A firm sense of ownership, where you get your hands messy in the details, but do so in service of letting our sales team shine with our customers
  • Worked with and influenced external senior stakeholders

Nice to haves:

  • Worked with and influenced external VP-level / C-Suite stakeholders
  • Data visualization and/or early product prototyping / design
  • Working knowledge of scientific / statistical languages such as R or Python
