Description:

The Program Manager is responsible for the proposal effort, customer support, and management of their respective programs for those specific customers requiring a program manager as their focal point of contact with the company.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Manages all proposal efforts for their assigned customers with emphasis on leading major proposals and development proposals (C&D). Coordinates program team and functional department efforts in the preparation of proposal responses to customer requests for quote. Prepares and or supports preparation of management and cost volumes of proposals. Submits pricing recommendations for management review/approval. Reviews customer requests for quote and makes bid/no bid recommendations.

2. Conducts contract negotiations on assigned programs in concert with the assigned contracts administrator or manager.

3. Reviews customer contracts and purchase orders to identify and clarify differences between the contract or purchase order and the proposal.

4. Generates and releases program work authorization documentation defining the scope of work, schedule requirements, program budget, contractual requirements, and data items.

5. Develops and maintains positive customer relationships and ensures the company meets all the customer's contractual requirements. Responsible for maintaining program schedule in accordance with customer requirements, controlling expenditures within the program budget, and updating the estimate to complete by program.

6. Maintains positive communication with all company functional areas to ensure compliance with customer requests and schedules, while maintaining an overall perspective of the goals of the company. Internal relationships include contracts, engineering, finance, operations, product line management, and supply chain.

7. Develops and maintains order and sales forecasts for assigned programs. Assess VOC (voice of customer) data to identify business opportunities and recommend strategies for capturing new business opportunities, including IR&D programs.

8. Prepares and presents program review reports to management.

9. Travel as customer, program, and company requirements dictate.

10. Exposure to company sensitive information and data as required.

11. Work with PLM to develop and implement strategies for expanding business opportunities with new and existing customers.

12. Develop presentations and present assigned proposals/programs to management and customers.

13. Profit and loss responsibility for assigned programs, including future business projections.

14. Lead portions of daily management to include +QDIP, QPSR, R&O, and program reviews.

15. Demonstrated ability to manage high levels of complexity to include high touch customers, high dollar or multiple customers

16. Represent program management at the site level as assigned.

17. May provide training and direction to lower level Program Managers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business/Marketing Degree with technical program experience.
  • Project Engineering experience a plus.
  • 7+ years of experience in a technical and manufacturing environment in the aerospace/defense industry.
  • DOD pricing and contract experience desired.
  • Ability to work on site as needed with some remote options
