The Program Manager acts as the Scrum Master to one or more applications or services within the Engineering organization. The Program Manager integrates agile principles into product development practices, helps facilitate the build of software applications, supports process management, and interacts with internal stakeholders to successfully complete projects within technical, schedule, cost and quality commitments.

Responsibilities

  • Plan sprints and facilitate scrum meetings such as daily stand ups, sprint review meetings, and sprint retrospective sessions.
  • Successfully completing sprints ontime with agreed upon tasks and resource allocation.
  • Delegating tasks appropriately and ensuring the team is working on the right tasks at the right time.
  • Resolve conflicts and remove impediments for the team, such as clarification on specifications and pushing past blocker software defects.
  • Prioritize and facilitate timely resolution of bugs and major issues in collaboration with customer success, quality assurance and engineering teams.
  • Facilitate backlog grooming and risk assessment with Senior Program Managers and Product Owners to maintain and prioritize the product roadmap.
  • Tag epics/tickets appropriately, create and analyze appropriate agile management (JIRA) reports to track and help adjust team commitments and delivery, and to report out on progress.
  • Utilize team feedback, retrospectives, and metrics to identify areas of opportunity for continuous improvement amongst the team. 
  • Conduct meetings to communicate project progress with internal stakeholders and leadership team. 
  • Help foster and build a productive development environment by celebrating team successes to motivate team members and optimize performance.
  • Build and maintain thorough understanding of application/product suite.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelors' degree in a technical discipline preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2 years of experience as a Project Manager or Scrum Master; 3 years preferred
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical thinking skills
  • Ability to stay focused on task at hand
  • Experience in SaaS product engineering preferred
  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), or Certified Product Owner (CSPO) certifications preferred
