Tektronix is seeking a Program Manager to drive business growth within new Product Lines by performing new product development on time and on budget. Reporting to the Director of the Program Management Office (PMO), the Program Manager will own process team, leading a cross-functional geographically dispersed team, documentation and tracking of all programs including LPM and APD process compliance, regular cadence of meetings and reviews, reporting, program metrics, counter measures and overall performance. The role requires a person who is comfortable communicating at all levels of the organization, in leading conflict and tradeoffs and is an enabler for cross-functional clarity, communication and execution through followership and driving accountability. The home office location for this role is in Beaverton, OR.

Responsibilities:

  • Accountable to program sponsors for schedule, budget, and quality of all program elements; calls out decisions to program sponsors as vital.
  • Leads the program planning process, tools, and schedule development.
  • Reviews/approves program plans for conformance to program strategy and schedule.
  • Acts as the communications conduit to sponsors and program steering committee and conducts periodic briefings/status updates. Prepares program status, program risk analyses, and customer VOC collection with a goal to drive issues to closure and assure achievement of program goals and critical metrics.
  • Directs and coordinates assets throughout respective company functions and conducts regular program reviews to make sure that program development and key performance indicators stay on track.
  • Assures that the program achieves the cost, quality, performance, production rate, and yield metrics defined during the proposal stages.
  • Leads program through all stages from idea to commercial execution.
  • Proactively handle changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans
  • Collaborates cross-functionally to establish performance, schedule, cost and quality objectives for internal teams and external partners

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering or related field desired; PMI/PMP certification preferred.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience developing system level products, which include hardware, firmware and software in a fully coordinated system.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of progressive and broad-based strategic development of new business programs and reinvention of current programs, technical marketing, brand and product leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading ambitious and results-driven brand management and product planning strategies applying Voice of the Customer (VOC) to identify growth opportunities for the company.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing long-range strategic goals with the ability to establish competitive strategy based on market intelligence, financials, and technology drivers.
  • Demonstrated experience leading ISO-9000 compliant projects (or equivalent)
  • Proven record working in a team-oriented, collaborative team environment including leadership of geographically dispersed, cross-functional development teams
  • Basic understanding of hardware and software development processes, electronics manufacturing, and materials procurement
  • Ability to optimally prioritize and complete tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in risk management and organizational change
