About the job
The Red Hat Products and Technologies Experience & Delivery Infrastructure (PnT - EXD - INFRA) team is looking for a Portfolio Interdependency Manager to join us in Raleigh, NC; Boston, MA; Westford, MA, or remotely on the East Coast. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the EXD INFRA team, prioritizing and tracking large scale initiatives of strategic importance to the company, ensuring alignment with strategic plans, and enabling transparency into technology investments across the PnT group. You will have the opportunity to engage early in the development of the portfolio and provide influence into its structure and management as part of a highly cross-functional and collaborative team that leads and provides support to the top strategic programs across Red Hat. You will be focused on ensuring that the teams they support do the right thing for the business. You'll also lead the process of quarterly and monthly portfolio review meetings, ensure portfolio dependency and risk management, manage the project intake process, dashboard and reporting, data hygiene process, and support the Director in developing and implementing mature Portfolio Management practices within the EXD Infra team.

What you will do

  • Support development and implementation of core portfolio management processes
  • Manage risk and maintain reporting and governance model for monitoring program health
  • Engage with executive leadership teams to provide overall health and risk assessment for critical initiatives impacting each division
  • Act as an ambassador and advocate for high profile global technology initiatives and promote awareness of the global technology portfolio
  • Act as a strategic consultant and collaborate with Business and PnT leadership, executives, business analysts, and developers to conduct impact analysis on portfolio demand planning, program, and project roll-up
  • Manage resource capacity needs and changes in overall enterprise portfolio as well as within the programs and projects as needed or required
  • Capture and prioritize demand levels for applications and develop differentiated capacity plans depending on business objectives and potential risks
  • Maintain portfolio resource reporting and metrics to create predictable project delivery and mitigate risk or gaps in delivery schedule
  • Be responsible for grooming and maintaining the backlog of work for infrastructure
  • Be responsible for working with stakeholders to gather infrastructure-level requirements
  • Maintain the single source of truth (SSOT) for all work for the INFRA team
  • Provide guidance on capacity of the overall organization to complete specific tasks
  • Manage stakeholder expectations for work needed
  • Work with leadership and architect to ensure the team objectives are being met
  • Provide means to measure work accomplished though OKRs
  • Maintain financial impact of the infrastructure organization (CapEx, OpEx)
  • Define overall strategy for the organization with architect and leaders of the team


What you will bring

  • 8+ years of relevant program and project management experience
  • 1-2 years of familiarity with various Software Development Life cycle (SDLC) methodologies like waterfall, agile, and iterative, and delivery frameworks like CMMI, ITIL, and ITSM
  • Experience leading digital transformation projects where technology and organizational change go hand in hand to deliver long term sustainability
  • Experience working with senior level executives and system integrators
  • Bachelor's degree; Master's degree is a plus
  • Expertise in project management methodologies, tools, and techniques
  • Expertise in dependency management and mapping, reporting on dependencies
  • Expertise creating project plans, schedules, and resourcing plans with project management tools like Microsoft Project or Smartsheet that incorporate dependency management
  • Understanding of Sales, Partners, and Services organizations and their business processes
  • Excellent communications, stakeholder, and relationship management skills
  • Ability to synthesize and analyze complex data to identify potential risks and draw meaningful conclusions
  • Global mindset, demonstrated professional appearance and approach, and customer focus
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; good at working with technology and subject matter experts in the business
  • Proven success as a project manager working with globally distributed, cross-functional teams on large-scale, enterprise projects
  • Comfortable operating in rapidly changing environments
  • PMP certification is a plus
