The privacy landscape is rapidly developing in countries around the world. Yahoo, like many of our peer companies, is investing in a comprehensive privacy program to manage increasing privacy risks. This role offers the opportunity to help shape Yahoo's privacy governance program and materially reduce our risk exposure.
The Privacy Program Coordinator will help design and build privacy operational compliance best practices throughout the company. They will liaise with the product, business, legal, and engineering teams across the company to incorporate compliance and privacy-by-design principles into operations and product development lifecycles.
A successful candidate will be a self-starter who loves technology, automation, streamlining processes, and finding efficiencies.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of Yahoo's records of a processing program. This involves implementing new tools, and developing and implementing new standards to meet emerging privacy regulations (e.g., the CPRA).
  • Manage privacy's participation in company-wide processes, such as the product launch calendar and third-party review.
  • Manage the data subject response escalation procedures. This requires working closely with Member Services to ensure requests and responses are properly and timely addressed.
  • Maintain privacy exception and escalation processes.
  • Facilitate and/or provide appropriate guidance, education, training, and regular communications on compliance to internal stakeholders and management.
  • Manage the internal privacy portal that houses the privacy team's internal policies.
  • Manage the privacy resource library.
  • Opportunities for professional development (e.g., CIPM, CIPP certification)

Preferred Skills/Qualifications
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Experience driving complex projects to a successful, timely completion
  • Ability to synthesize information and produce clear, crisp summaries, visualizations, and documentation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good judgment and discretion
  • Solid leadership and partnership skills, including the ability to empathize with and motivate others
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced and emerging areas of the business and law
  • Willingness to develop processes and policies from scratch
  • Ability to learn new tools and skills on the fly
  • Ability to work both with a team and independently as needed
  • Familiarity with various privacy data protection legislation (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, LGPD) is a plus
