About Season
Season is on a mission to rethink nutrition-based healthcare. We use technology to bridge the gap between the doctor's office and the dinner table, getting patients the food they need to improve outcomes and reduce the cost of care. Season patients receive support from a registered dietitian, a unique "nutrition prescription" tailored to their conditions and goals, and access to thousands of recipes, prepared food, grocery items and meal plans. Our goal is to help patients get the right food into their fridge and onto their plate to drive real health outcomes.
We are a remote-first startup with hubs in New York, San Francisco, and Austin. We are backed by Andreessen-Horowitz, LRV Health, 8VC, Bain Capital, Healthy.VC and Grand Central Tech among others. Season recruits, employs, compensates, and promotes regardless of race, religion, color, national origin, gender identity, disability, age, veteran status and other protected status as required by applicable law and as a matter of our company ethics.
About the Role
Season's vision is to bring personalized nutrition to everyone, whoever you are and wherever you eat. To realize this vision, we are building a platform that empowers businesses across health care, wellness, grocery and culinary to create clinical-grade nutritional features inside their own products and services that leverage Season's nutrition technology, clinical services, and marketplace.
As a Principal Technical Program Manager, you will own delivery of new programs built on Season's API product. You will work across internal and external teams to define, execute and deliver end-to-end experiences that drive value for Season and our partners and create positive health outcomes for users. You will do this by navigating complex and ambiguous problems without a defined playbook, creating structure and urgency, informing technical designs, measuring progress, seeing around corners, making trade-off decisions, clearing obstacles, and holding a high bar for on-time and high-quality delivery.
If you are the sort of TPM who is excited to take single-threaded ownership of a company-defining initiative, we'd like to hear from you.
This role reports to the Chief Product Officer.
What You Will Do

  • Define, execute and deliver new programs built on Season's API product
  • Work closely with product management, engineering and customer success teams to define requirements, scoping, technical design, and project plans
  • Be a trusted resource to Season's partners and establish a tight codevelopment relationship with their product and engineering teams
  • Create structured, repeatable processes for managing program delivery such as project plans, clear milestones, communication tools, risk assessment and mitigation, decision making, and go/no-go gates
  • Work closely with Engineering to design the technical interfaces that will power third-party integrations and the underlying service architecture and data science roadmap that will support third-party use cases
  • Identify opportunities to converge overlapping technical efforts and drive the long term strategy of the company
  • Wear all of the many hats required to launch a product of this complexity, and help define and lead the team that we need to support this product at scale
  • Foster a team culture that is high ownership, sweats the details, and consistently delivers results

About You

  • You have 5-8 years of experience in technical program management.
  • You are technically savvy. You have experience leveraging API-driven services to build consumer apps. You could imagine yourself using our third-party platform to build that app you've always wanted to build, and you are technically skilled enough to do it. You have strong and high-judgment opinions on what a best-in-class technical product for developers looks like.
  • You have an overdeveloped sense of ownership. You are a self-starter who takes pride in your work and puts your name on it. You hold yourself to the highest standard, and you have a proven ability to drive complex projects with minimal oversight. You sweat the details.
  • You are analytical. You thrive on structure, data and research-based decision making. You know how to find data in the real world, manipulate it, and use it to drive prioritization, make a decision, and measure success.
  • You have a bias for action. You roll up your sleeves. If something must be done, it isn't beneath you to roll up your sleeves and do it. When a situation is less than ideal, you figure it out and make it work.
  • You are a skilled communicator. You have exceptional written and spoken communication skills. You are a gifted storyteller. You share your thinking transparently and value transparency from others.
  • You embrace obstacles. When confronted with competing objectives, you are excited to negotiate trade-offs. When you are blocked, you embrace it as a puzzle to solve. Obstacles do not discourage you from doing your job; obstacles are the job.
  • Desired, but not required:
    • You have studied engineering, computer science or a related field
    • You have worked as a developer or in another hands-on technical role
    • You have industry experience in nutrition, health care, grocery, hospitality, or e-commerce
    • You have comfort with (or expertise in) accessing data using SQL
    • You have exceptional experience in another field or function that makes you a great candidate for this position

What You Get

  • A full-time role at a competitive wage with significant equity
  • Medical, dental, and vision benefits provided to you and your dependents at no cost
  • Option to participate in 401k plan
  • Flexible work arrangements, including unlimited PTO
  • An opportunity to use your skills to help improve nutrition and population health at a mission-driven company
  • A stipend to customize the tools you need to do your best work
  • Fun coworkers
  • A fully remote environment with regular, fully funded company-wide in-person meetups, every other month
