Job Title: Principal Statistician

Location: Fort Worth, TX

Summary of Position:

Alcon is looking to hire a Principal Statistician to join our Research and Development team at Fort Worth, TX. This role supports project teams through contributions to product development strategies and the design, planning, execution, analysis, and reporting of clinical studies, with a view toward establishing the conditions essential for determining safety, effectiveness, and marketability.

Key Responsibilities:• Scientific and technical leadership and management of multiple projects in several therapeutic areas within ophthalmology.• Must exhibit the ability to independently assist in creation of product development plans and lead scientific development of all related protocols for multiple projects.• Independently lead all efforts related to project-level as well as study-level activities, to include all analyses and inputs into regulatory filings, publications, and post-marketing studies.• Ensure and manage quality, timeliness, and efficiency for all support and deliverables for designated projects.• Liaise with and provide needed guidance to statistical programmers assigned in support of project and clinical study deliverables.• Includes the accountabilities of statisticians assigned to projects.• Establish and maintain working relationships with project-specific cross-functional representation.

Key Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+0 yrs)
• The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
• 5 Years of Relevant Experience
• Work hours: 40 hours a week
• Travel Requirements: 10% domestic travel

Preferred Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

• Degree in statistics or biostatistics
• Excellent knowledge (theoretical and practical) in advanced statistics and clinical trial methodology
• Sound knowledge of project therapeutic areas and relevance to study design, or demonstrated ability to learn them
• Good knowledge of product development and commercialization process and relevant guidelines and processes
• Emerging Health Authority expertise preferred
• Excellent project management skills
