Whole Foods Market is looking for a highly detailed change champion and influencer to join our team as a Principal Program Manager for our Team Member Services (HR) Operations team; Supporting HR, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Benefits, Compensation, Payroll and Team Member Communications & Engagement, this individual will be responsible for defining and managing the value proposition, work plan, resource needs, timeline, and budget for projects within HR Operations. In addition, they will organize and drive resources (capital, staff, tools) to achieve project objectives on time, within scope, and on budget. Responsibilities include overall project planning, direction, prioritization, change management, delivery, and post-delivery evaluation. Lastly, the Principal Program Manager works to ensure project scope, planning, and implementation align with client expectations and business needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently manages complex projects requiring collaboration across multiple functions.
  • Manages cross-functional project teams comprised of diverse (for example, business, operational, technical) Team Members.
  • Plays a consultative role to help put in place the appropriate people, processes, and tools to enable effective project management and success.
  • Manages projects with complex business, operational, technical, and other challenges.
  • Determines and coordinates sharing of leveraged resources among projects.
  • Defines, implements, and consults on project management standards / processes for relevant teams or projects.
  • Ensures alignment across multiple projects.

Skills:

  • Expert ability to plan, estimate, organize, and monitor projects.
  • Advanced capability to oversee and advise on project management issues and assist with overcoming barriers.
  • Expert ability to keep multiple projects on track financially, creatively, and in accordance with stakeholder deadlines.
  • Advanced proficiency with project management software, such as SharePoint, MS Project, and Basecamp.
  • Expert understanding of WFM’s project management methodologies and requirements.
  • Conveys and/or consults on issues of moderate to significant complexity.
  • Provides process advice and guidance to Team Members and internal customers.
  • Consults with and advises senior-level stakeholders and leaders.
  • Develops complex solutions to business problems through in-depth analyses and coordination / negotiation with key decision makers.
  • Uses experience, innovation, and judgment to make decisions that may be based on partial information.
  • Considers enterprise-wide implications of decisions and recommendations.
  • Leverages understanding of the customer base, market, and industry to drive project-related decisions and recommendations. 

Education & Experience:

  • BA/BS degree and 6-8 years of relevant experience OR equivalent education and relevant experience.
  • PMP Certification a plus
