Principal Enterprise Program Manager
Disney Streaming is part of the Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution (DMED) group within the Walt Disney Company. The Enterprise Program Management team is a centralized group within the Disney Streaming Technology organization focused on delivering complex technical initiatives that directly fulfill DMED products including Disney+, ESPN+, Hulu, and Star+.
The Principal Enterprise Program Manager leads the technical program delivery of Disney’s streaming products across domestic and international markets. The cross-functional role requires a combination of technical acumen, program management, project management, and risk management. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, relationship builder, and leader who will also help shape the team as we continue to evolve, grow, and partner with our world-class engineering and product organizations.
Responsibilities :
- Utilize your expertise to manage the development and release of applications built for multiple client platforms (such as iOS, Android, Web and multiple other streaming platforms), as well as backend services powering media delivery, commerce, id and other functions. The ideal candidate has a keen interest in the streaming domain, a learning / growth mindset, and experience being a team leader.
- Build strategic and trusted partnerships with our Technical Project/Program Management Team, Engineering leads, ensuring alignment with dynamic and evolving business needs.
- Manage risks, measure and report on progress, anticipate and resolve bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance business needs with technical constraints in order to provide timely updates on project health to a cross-functional audience of executive technical, business, marketing, legal, and operations stakeholders.
Basic Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 10 years practical experience in a technical role, preferably within streaming media or media industry.
- Proven track record managing complex technical programs involving consumer-facing front-end applications with complex backend systems.
- Accustomed to working with third-party integrations that involve both external and internal dependencies.
- Program Lifecycle Disciplines: Strong knowledge of the integrated systems lifecycle development utilizing different – and sometimes – multiple development models (e.g., agile, waterfall, hybrid, etc.).
- Stellar verbal and written communication skills; specifically the ability to synthesize product requirements into engineering deliverables, and to translate program information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable with changing specifications and standards, and leading teams to deliver through ambiguity.
- Demonstrated experience project or product management tools such as JIRA.
- Distinctive analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Advanced foresight capabilities related to anticipating and managing issues, and adhering to program deadlines.
- Understands the importance of scaling support services in alignment with program needs with the ability to implement and execute applicable positive changes.
- Ability to utilize lessons learned and prior experience to execute on both a strategic and tactical level.
- Driven to continually enhance relationships and partnerships within the organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Account management, client service, and/or management consulting experience is a plus.
