Title: PMO Admin, IT Project Manager III

How will you make an impact?

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a PMO Admin - IT Project Manager to support our LSLPG/BPG/GSG Groups. The primary goal of the position is support and to serve as the primary owner and contact of several Project management Office (PMO) tools and processes, with an emphasis on Planview EPPM tools and reporting, dashboards and data management. This position will be responsible for defining and developing solutions and processes to increase project management methodologies efficiencies, effectiveness and continuous improvements. The candidate will provide various analysis, discovery and presentations to communicate PMO trends and performance metrics.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist Group IT PMO, Group IT staff and IT Program Excellence members as needed to handle day to day support activities such as Planview EPPM record and resource management, pulling reports/content to present during monthly Project Review Board and A/R approval process. Provide ongoing training to IT Project Managers and ensure alignment/adherence to the PMF Framework. This will include reviewing project status updates, helping with data entry of new work records, handling internal cross charge record management, and ensuring process alignment and validation across multiple IT teams.
  • Group Liaison to IT Program Excellence team to participate in the wider Thermo Fisher IT PMO Admin forum on weekly/monthly basis includes collaboration/testing/feedback on systems/processes and then share back with Group IT PMO team including any new training/change management. Assist in with system & process improvements/document findings and recommendations
  • Help with governance of project and program EPPM maintenance by working with IT partners and the PMO organization to ensure resource and financial tracking, and drive IT PM accountability.
  • Coordinate and run weekly/monthly IT PMO meeting mechanisms. Training & Onboarding of new users to the Planview EPPM tool. Regularly update IT portfolio reports and analyze data for QBR's and weekly high-level project review meetings. Help the Group IT PMO team and Group IT leaders with submittal and maintenance of Purchase Orders.



Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong experience with using project planning tools (Planview EPPM preferred)
  • Outstanding social skills, including the ability to collaborate and facilitate. Ability to multitask throughout the day and shift priorities as needed. Detail oriented with strong organization and planning skills
  • Experience in handling budgets, project plans, resource allocations, and priorities. Good understanding of financial concepts and accounting terms
  • Ability to train and help others, show patience, provide open line of communication, and communicate with multi levels of leadership.
  • Ability to lead change and the organizational change management process. Continuous passion for process and delivery improvements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-functional team



Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related technology strongly preferred.
  • Proven grasp of Project Management tools, MS Office suite, Planview EPPM, JIRA, Power BI
  • Requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in IT project administration or related technologies.
  • Waterfall / Agile Project Management knowledge preferred - PMO certified a plus
  • May be called upon for occasional overnight business travel to other Thermo Fisher Scientific operating sties - travel is estimated to be less than 10%
