Crunchyroll COVID-19 Hiring Status
Crunchyroll employees are currently working from home, and we are still conducting remote interviews and hiring during this time. This role is expected to start remotely, and we’ll work closely with you as we understand every person has unique circumstances.

About The Team
The Partner Services team is the window to Japan and our licensors form whom we license the majority of our content from. Our goal is to make sure that our partner’s requests are being met, and that our content is being taken care of and promoted in an appropriate manner. We work very closely with our partners and colleagues in Japan, trafficking both assets and communications, and making sure that we continue to maintain our relationships with our licensors.
About You:
- Strong time management skills; you should be able to keep track of multiple projects in various stages of completion and progress
- Strong interest in anime and Japanese pop culture is a huge plus
- Well-organized and detail oriented; you’re motivated and can work independently with minimal intervention
- Ability to be flexible and to change directions quickly, able to adapt to a fast-paced environment and deal with ambiguity
- Have the ability to glean information from multiple sources, both directly and indirectly from partners and other co-workers
- Understanding of working with partners from different cultural backgrounds, particularly Japanese business culture
- Be a phenomenal teammate and understand that everyone plays a role on the team, and also works together to help one another out
- Be self-motivated and proactive, with an optimistic demeanor. You like to learn new things and look into innovative ways of making tasks more efficient. You’re also not afraid to ask questions when needed.
- Be comfortable stretching and learning outside of your defined role, open to taking on new challenges and tackling tasks outside of your comfort zone
- Ability to communicate professionally both verbally and in written form.
- Have a Bachelor’s degree, preferably related to communications or marketing
- Proficiency in either Mac or PC, comfortable navigating software outside of Microsoft Office/Google App Suites
- Experience using content delivery software (Aspera, SFTP), Adobe suite, CMS backend systems a plus
- Basic understanding of Japanese is preferred.
A day in the life of our Partner Manager:
- Develop and execute on long-term and short-term exploitation strategy and new business opportunities with Deal Leads from both Tokyo and San Francisco offices for your licensors/partners.
- Be the key point of contact for the brand’s licensor for requests. Provide periodic updates for new and existing brands to each partner. Proactively update changes to exploitation and promotional strategy and rationale behind the change.
- Know your assigned partners and brands thoroughly to enable strong marketing teamworks and growth in distribution.
- Serve as the key contact person for managed partners across multiple internal departments and Licensors.
- Independently lead all aspects of the usage of a partner’s brand by coordinating internal approvals & external approvals with Licensors.
- Coordinate PR & marketing timelines for your partner's brands and work on promotions with support from both Title Marketing and Franchise Management teams and communicate back to partners.
- Facilitate guest invitations of respective Licensors and their associated talent for Crunchyroll Events.
