As the IS Project Manager, you will own the end to end delivery of Operations & Engineering small to medium sized projects ranging between $100K and $1M. You will be expected to partner with various business stakeholders, including external customers, to define business requirements, establish success criteria, and implement across the Operations & Engineering platforms Electrification US.Reporting to Operations & Engineering Solutions Delivery Leader, you need to understand the power and potential of information technology. Your responsibilities

  • Primary responsibility for managing the implementation of multiple Operations & Engineering Business and IS projects from start to finish, ensuring the projects meet the needs of the Electrification Business as a whole
  • Collaborate closely and build productive relationships with Business and Operations Leaders across the organization
  • Support the development and enhancement of methodologies and practices for the application life cycle management in line with best practice and practical experience of continuous improvement
  • Ensure that applications processes (including those of external service providers) are conducted in line with corporate social responsibility, environmental and technical policies and applicable standards and legislation
  • Governance for assigned tasks, executes all actions in IS processes and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) according to agreed RACIS (Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, Informed, Support) specification defining with key stakeholders the scope of work, cost/budget, resources required, time schedule, and detailed work allocation
  • Organizing, monitoring, and controlling activities to safeguard achievement of planned stage-gates and efficient utilization of available resources. Monitoring and controlling of project financials, as well as proactive management and mitigation of project risks
  • Ensuring the successful close down of the project, project completion and the capture and documentation of lessons learned. Executing project communication and issuing reporting for project performance against plan and business outcome
  • Sees the overall impact of scope changes and actively negotiates as they arise to ABB's best interest, Plan critical path, monitor, and control project activities to maximize cash flow, Coordinate/negotiate with major vendors to improve pricing and delivery
  • Create effective reports (status/progress) to all stakeholders with appropriate detail for desired understanding of the true project status and what needs to be achieved to accomplish project goals and objectives
  • Strong experience working on a complex matrix organization ensuring multiple and diverse stakeholders engagement, Work with others in a coordinated and professional way to create a team environment that achieves project success, Strong experience working with multiple demands with competing priorities
Your background

  • Minimum education required is an Associate's degree, (but a Bachelor's degree is preferred) in Computer Science, Business Information Systems or related is required with 8 or more years of experience as an IT Project Manager or Program Manager managing a high-performing, cohesive team
  • Ability to meet objectives by influencing and engaging across multiple global, remote teams is required. Must be able to travel in NA (approximately 10%).
  • Experience leading and delivering applications support across manufacturing, logistics, and distribution processes is strongly preferred. Experience with manufacturing processes, procedures, and factory IT programs preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Project Management processes, strategies, and methods. Professional Project Management Certification from accredited institution preferred.
  • Managerial experience applying analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with the to lead, enable and motivate teams by providing advice and guidance in a nonjudgmental fashion
  • High levels of personal integrity when conducting the professional affairs of the organization and dealing with sensitive and confidential data relating to risks and costs. Self-directed, motivated, and able to work independently with a strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
  • Very strong collaboration/communication skills are required with ability to build strategic partner relationships with IT peers, functional business teams and external customers
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
