As a Project Manager, you will lead and drive projects that impact our customers and the employees. You be responsible for developing and driving business workstreams for the Multi-Cloud Customer Success team supporting VMware Cloud on AWS, VMware Cloud on Dell EMC and vRealize Cloud Management. In this role, you will contribute to VMware's transformation to a subscription and SaaS company.

The Multi-Cloud Customer Success PMO team is operating in a fast-paced and diverse environment and there will never be a dull moment working within this team.

Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

  • Acquire solid understanding of the Multi-Cloud Customer Success processes and get exposure to the customers engagements of the Customer Success Managers.
  • Acquire solid understanding of the team's PMO framework and practices and apply these on the job.
  • Get the Multi-Cloud Customer Success team ready on assigned projects / initiatives related to product releases, strategic programs, operational efficiencies, technology and data analytics.
  • Handle projects / initiatives using the team's PMO best practices.
  • Be involved in a D&I initiative within VMware.


What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

  • Drive execution and coordinate with cross-discipline team members on each phase of workstreams from ideation to launch, working out strategic questions, gaps, and driving closure on issues.
  • Drive meticulous documentation and project planning, rapidly creating timelines, project plans, updates, focus on using consistent collaboration platforms and tools for scale and efficiency.
  • Manage workstream dependencies by forcing collisions, collaboration across multiple teams until an accepted solution is in place.
  • Establish and execute effective project communication plans. Produce regular status reports that are audience appropriate to communicate with executives and workstreams.
  • Coordinate the development of user manuals, training materials, process documents and other collaterals as needed to enable successful deployment.
  • Analyze business big data, identify opportunities / gaps and build an improvement strategy for continuous improvement.
  • Manage relationships with business stakeholders.
  • Publish impactful weekly updates for broad distribution
  • Bring major gaps, risks to leadership for discussion, decision, closure.
  • As we grow the subscription and SaaS business, keep workstreams focused on business results, aligning the team on key metrics, goals, and business targets.
  • Proactively identify and develop new opportunities across the business.
  • Conduct post-project evaluation and identify successful and unsuccessful initiative elements.
  • Build and deliver enablement, communications and training.



What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?

The manager for this position is Lei Talens, Senior Manager - Multi-Cloud Customer Success PMO. Lei has the built the PMO group and in the journey of scaling the team up. She believes that collaboration and teamwork play in building successful teams. She is passionate about open communication, diversity and inclusion and involved with Women@VMware. She has over 20 years' program management experience including running strategic programs and developing strategic partnerships. She has been with VMware for 11 years and is a Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and Six Sigma-trained.

Remote: this role is fully remote and can be done anywhere in the US or Canada.
