Marketing Lead-Strategic Program Manager
We seek an experienced marketing professional for a Strategic Program Manager role in Evanston, IL (Evanston preferred, other U.S. locations acceptable). You will be well suited to this role if you have an agency background or have diverse marketing experiences and expertise. You understand marketing creative production and how to make such marketing projects flow effortlessly. Project management skills are critical for your success, but are secondary to your understanding of marketing audiences, business process, and common asset types. You have experience in producing content for digital channels.
In this role, you will report to the head of Marketing Program Orchestration and be responsible for managing the overall execution of one or more complex, active programs with large cross-functional teams to ensure that they meet business goals and requirements. You will work closely with senior marketing leadership, as well as individuals on the marketing team, which include industry marketers, writers, designers, digital marketers and event coordinators. You are able to lead from the front, stimulating upfront ideation and opportunity shaping when needed, as well as you can overseeing the marketing project production process and associated technology to ensure all milestones and requirements are met, and using influence to predict and eliminate bottlenecks or resource constraints. In addition, you will act as the project owner for strategic corporate marketing initiatives throughout the year.
Key responsibilities include:
- Project & Resource Planning & Execution - Meticulously monitor high-priority marketing program deliverables, helping managers make necessary project trade-off decisions, while ensuring efficient delivery by project teams.
- Communication & Relationship Management - Serve as a mediator among project team members. Ensure deadlines are communicated and met. Manage program communication. Coordinate and lead marketing production meetings. Proactively assess production schedule to ensure projects are correctly scoped, have adequate content and direction, and are proper alignment to business goals. Ensure status and metric reporting.
- Marketing Process Management & Training -Monitor use of the marketing resource management (MRM) and production management systems.
- Own Specific Corporate Marketing Initiatives - Lead the project management of both go-to-market campaigns and other corporate initiatives, such as launching the new Intranet sit, and launch, go-to-market campaigns,
- Quality Assurance - Assist with the marketing planning process (e.g. milestones, participants, actions, templates, calendar), ensuring marketing's goals are aligned with business and product objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree plus 5-10 years of project management experience, or master's degree + 3-8 years' experience
- Analytical thinker with a natural curiosity and ability to map strategy to tactics.
- Exceptional organizational skills, including great attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience developing and managing complex plans, budgets and deadlines. Experience with Workfront and Adobe Experience Manager a plus.
- Resilience under pressure. Ability to say no firmly, but with empathy.
- Exceptional communication skills - both verbal and written, including experience presenting to and influencing executives in a highly matrixed, fast-paced environment.
- Strong international collaboration skills and experience required.
- S elf-starter who excels at multi-tasking with strong ability to prioritize to meet business needs.
- Must possess confidence and assertiveness ; ability to collaborate and build credibility with colleagues and business leaders.
- Willingness to regularly shift working hours to meet with global marketing team members in Evanston, Ill. US and/or New Delhi.
- Project Management and / or digital channels certification(s) a plus.
- Advanced Excel and data analysis skills preferred.
- Willing to travel internationally up to 5%.
