Job Summary:

The Manager, Project Management is responsible for leading and directing the project management activities supporting Aldevron clients. This role requires knowledge of biomanufacturing processes (upstream and downstream) to effectively lead the team responsible for the management of development projects and manufacturing campaigns, acting as the point of contact for clients and managing internal milestone timelines for lot release.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Project Coordinators and Project Managers and coach them on the necessary skills required for effective stakeholder engagement, task management, and clear, concise communication internally and externally
  • Serve as a resource to Project Coordinators and Project Managers on technical and operational questions, barriers to success, and risk factors
  • Develop departmental policies and procedures for managing projects and educate individuals in and outside the department as it relates to meeting these expectations
  • Work collaboratively with other internal stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery of action items associated with client activities and internal projects
  • Collect and report assigned metrics to be reported at management meetings
  • Work directly with department team members to facilitate communication, provide status updates and manage risk
  • Establish and maintain a framework project plan (with meaningful timelines and check points, logical links between activities, internal/external resources, and assumptions) that depicts the activities in line with the approved strategy and the input from the respective departments
  • Track and forecast collective project timelines and provide team with early warnings on possible variances
  • Schedule project management meetings and develop meeting agendas; lead team meetings for routine operations, take minutes and ensure follow-up of action items from the minutes
  • Identify barriers to success and work with internal stakeholders to design effective solutions
  • Ensure proper identification and management of project risks and report to cross-functional management
  • Communicate significant variances to cross-functional management and work with the project team to develop mitigation plans
  • Organize efficient information flow within the team, which can be spread across different functional sub-teams
  • Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle
  • Conduct project postmortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements
  • Identify, manage, and resolve dependencies and possible conflicts across teams by partnering with internal stakeholders in different roles to assess the workloads and impacts for different departments
  • Ability to travel, up to 20%


Qualifications:

  • B.S. or B.A. required, life sciences degree highly preferred
  • Demonstrated success as a project or program manager in life science industry required
  • Demonstrated experience leading a high performing team
  • Experience in a biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or medical device related field preferred
  • Experience with various project management software systems

Salary range $90,000 to $125,000 plus annual bonus
