Amplify is seeking an experienced education leader, who has led programmatic change across a school or network of schools, to support districts in elevating PreK-5 ELA instruction when adopting Core Knowledge Language Arts (CKLA), Amplify's high-quality PreK-5 language arts program. The Professional Development Partnerships Manager, CKLA will support district partners with large-scale implementations of CKLA, including: developing a multi-year, district-wide professional development strategy, advising district leaders on key pedagogical questions and organizational change considerations, and conducting district-wide program reviews.
Responsibilities:

  • Meet with district leaders and serve as engagement manager for strategic, large-scale implementations of CKLA and high-value professional development engagements.
  • Advise district partners on professional development strategy and approach and develop multi-year, district-wide professional development proposals.
  • Provide instructional consultation to support successful implementation of the CKLA curriculum. Supports may include: conducting and debriefing observational walkthroughs with teachers and school leaders, modeling CKLA instruction, customizing professional development content and support structures, and leading district-wide program reviews. Assess satisfaction and make changes to service offerings as needed.
  • Oversee project management (scoping, budgeting, and delivery) of PD engagements.
  • Assess impact and effectiveness of training by collecting and analyzing feedback from our partners and PD participants. Incorporate educator feedback to continuously improve the professional development experience.
  • Design customized in-person, remote, and online professional development sessions for teachers, instructional leaders, and district leaders to support strong implementation of the CKLA curriculum.
  • Coach and prepare PD facilitators, ensuring that facilitators have strong foundations, as well as targeted preparation specific to the engagement.
  • Collaborate with the Product and Professional Development teams to understand upcoming content offerings and feature releases and incorporate into training programs and assets.
  • Support expansion of CKLA usage and collaborate with Sales partners to drive upsell opportunities with school partners you support.


Basic Qualifications:

  • 5 years proven experience teaching literacy to PreK-5th grade students.
  • Experience collaborating with and influencing senior level staff internally, whether across a school network, district, or state education agency.
  • Experience leading programmatic change across a school or network of schools. e.g., Gaining staff agreement and emotional commitment, planning a communications strategy, etc.
  • Experience managing large-scale projects in a school or district setting, including planning and budgeting. Proficiency with Excel, Google Sheets, Google Docs, and Powerpoint to manage and collaborate on project plans, budgets, and client-facing presentations.
  • Experience leading educators within a school or network of schools and/or experience coaching elementary school teachers to improve literacy outcomes for students.
  • Experience (at scale) designing professional development sessions and helping educators learn new things and adopt new practices.
  • Demonstrated facility with data analysis and a strong data-driven approach.
  • Able to travel occasionally as required to see schools and professional development in action. Travel needs will vary across the year but are expected to be no more than 20% on average.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • You have experience teaching CKLA or coaching educators who teach CKLA.
  • You have led curriculum adoptions in a school or district setting.
  • You have advised and coach school or district leaders on how to lead change within their schools.
  • You have designed and delivered both in-person and online professional development.
  • You have led teams -- you know how to get people motivated, rowing in the same direction, and focused on a common goal even when times are tough.
  • You can lay out sound work plans and are organized with your priorities and tasks -- you accomplish amazing amounts of work, demonstrate attention to detail, and have demonstrated a willingness to roll up your sleeves and pitch in or problem-solve.
  • You have a background in early literacy.
  • You have experience with English language learners and/or have experience coaching educators and leaders who support English language learners
  • You are fluent in Spanish in order to support educators with CKLA's Spanish program.
  • You have strong receptivity to upward, downward, and peer feedback -- you act on feedback and continue to get better over time.
  • You work well with others, are transparent, and put your half baked ideas out there for input and critique.
  • You quickly get up to speed.
