SUMMARY
Bring your program management skills to a passionate group of influencers in our Tech Advancement & Outreach team. Together, we are setting out to grow a diverse and inclusive tech workforce for Northwestern Mutual. Our team is at the heart of the tech ecosystem, developing new pipelines for talent, growing our Tech Internship program, developing K-12 STEM programming, strengthening the Milwaukee tech hub, and building digital platforms that grow our tech identity across the country. Remote Opportunity - Work from Home or Onsite in Milwaukee, WI or New York City, NY
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accountable for overall project management results of multiple projects and programs.
  • Deliver complex cross-functional initiatives with responsibility for managing scope, targeted outcomes, timeline, and budget.
  • Measure our teams performance on short and long term goals and advance data driven decisions and insights to move our team to success.
  • Build partnerships across technology, HR, marketing, compliance, communications and community organizations, necessary to deliver value through our portfolio of projects.
  • Identify industry trends and develop market opportunities and programs that will scale and strengthen our impact.
  • Influence and guide the strategy of our Tech Advancement & Outreach team and joint strategic planning with our partner teams and organizations.
  • Explain information and persuade others. Effectively interact, negotiate and influence teams and business partners to provide progressive solutions and results.
  • May lead a small team of direct reports or consultants and build virtual teams of partners, volunteers and vendors to deliver value.
  • Accountable for identifying and resolving issues and conflicts within the project team at a program level.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience.
  • A minimum of 4 years of project management experience in technology and/or business functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage large and highly complex assignments including those with enterprise-wide impact.
  • Experience with project management methodologies.
  • Ability to work with general direction to scope, plan and manage cross-functional or multi-department projects.
  • Ability to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks simultaneously and deliver results under pressure.
  • Sees team success and collaboration as a critical part of achieving goals.
  • Written and oral communications skills with the ability to build rapport within technology, the company, and outside partners.
  • High degree of personal initiative and motivation.
