Position Overview:
As the IT Technical Project Manager, you will help transform the growing IT team at Brilliant Earth, while building your own skills and creating an amazing experience for your colleagues. You will support the IT Leadership across all projects that are aligned to the company and IT goals.
What you’ll do:
Plan the project
Determine the objectives and key results upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion and build consensus from project sponsors and stakeholders
Determine the resources (time, technology, dependencies ) required to complete the project successfully and effectively negotiate any constraints
Create a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project as well as identify critical path and dependencies
Identify, track and mitigate project risks
Review the project schedule with stakeholders that will be affected by the project activities and revise the schedule as elements change
Staff the project
Work with IT managers to identify appropriate resources necessary to complete the project
Manage project team according to established policies and practices
Implement the project
Execute according to the project plan
Efficiently develop processes to document project activities
Monitor the progress of the project and make adjustments in consultation with project teams to ensure successful completion
Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders in the organization on the progress
Review quality of work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project standards
Foster an environment conducive to team discussion and collaborative decision making
Facilitate the project
Schedule meetings as necessary to coordinate resources for requirements gathering, daily standups, problem resolution, user acceptance testing, etc.
Track project status and maintain organization of project management tool(s)
Report out to the project team and key stakeholders on a consistent basis
Spot, resolve and / or escalate issues in a timely way
Ensure proper change controls are implemented and managed
Work across IT and business functions to manage priorities of multiple competing projects
Evaluate the project
Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality
Detailed work plans
Project schedules
Project evaluation criteria
Forms and records to document project activities
Project status reports
Budget vs actuals
Vendor invoicing and accruals
CapEx Timesheet Tracking
Evaluate the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase
Present at key stakeholder and leadership meetings
You’re a great candidate if you have:
Minimum 5 years of relevant IT Project Management experience as described above
Bachelor’s degree, preferred
Skill in managing multiple diverse activities simultaneously, delivering on commitments, and operating with speed, accuracy and strong judgment
Experience and skill in performing business analyses, documenting requirements, configuration and customizations, or mapping processes
Great resourcefulness and an instinct for surfacing value and pragmatic solutions
Customer orientation
Preference will be given to those individuals who also possess the following:
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Agile Development certification
Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
The ability to thrive in high-volume, fast-paced, and feedback-driven environments.
The ability to occasionally travel to our San Francisco office.
Approachable and knowledgeable communication style with all levels of co-workers.
