Primary responsibilities are IT Project Management: initiating, planning, executing, and controlling. Implementation and introduction of projects for new systems and technologies. Principle Duties: Successfully follow IT PMM and lead facilitation of projects to completion. Facilitate the definition of project missions, goals, tasks, and resource requirements; resolve or assist in the resolution of conflicts within and between projects or functional areas; risk identification and management. -Completes work assignments by applying up-to-date knowledge in subject area to meet deadlines; following procedures and policies, and applying data and resources to support projects or initiatives; collaborating with others, often cross-functionally, to solve business problems; supporting the completion of priorities, deadlines, and expectations; communicating progress and information; identifying and recommending ways to address improvement opportunities when possible; and escalating issues or risks as appropriate.-Allocates resources, establishes schedules, and makes task assignments.-Assists with the management of project sub-teams by ensuring assignment and tracking of tasks for team members.-Supports the management and proactive mitigation of project issues and risks

Sentara has a need for an IT Project Manager!We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications: At least 5 years of IT PM experience within a healthcare/clinical setting; Epic or other EMR experience a plus. PMP certification preferred.Experience managing projects with both Agile and Waterfall teams in hybrid environment.Experience managing infrastructure and application development type of deliverables.Job Description:Responsible for employing project management processes as prescribed by the IT PMO project management methodology.Directs effort working with Lead(s) and Project Team(s) to document requirements, develop product acceptance criteria, and continue validating requirements as the project progresses.Works with Project Team(s) to develop and approve a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Project Schedule for all deliverables.Manages the Project Schedule to meet the approved timeline.Accountable for project budget.Maintains project documentation and processes.Drives the risk management process.Escalates risks and issues to the Sponsor and PMO Director as appropriate per the risk management plan.Develops the communication management plan and ensures proper communication plan execution.Partners with Lead(s) to ensure proper scope management and change management procedures.Manages conflict and escalates unresolved conflict issues to the Lead(s).Provides project status reports in a compelling manner. Reflective listening, effective listening skills will be crucial to success in this role while working to interpret verbal and non-verbal cues using quality communication skills.Accounts for customer acceptance of project deliverables.
