IT Project Management Senior Manager

This position will have responsibilities of US Medical Government Clinical/RA/CareAllies PMO. The position will also manage day to day activity of project managers primarily supporting MHK and core clinical initiatives. The ideal candidate will owns the output of a key discipline within IT Project Management and typically manages a team of IT Project Management job family roles. Responsible for overall coordination, status reporting and stability of complex and cross-functional project oriented work efforts. Manages multiple projects simultaneously. Establishes and implements project management processes and methodologies for the IT community to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards and meet customer expectations. Responsible for tracking key project milestones and adjusting project plans and/or resources to meet the needs of customers. Partners with senior management of the business community to identify and prioritize opportunities for utilizing IT to achieve the goals of the enterprise. Must possess extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of Project Management methodologies and tools. Utilizes in-depth professional knowledge and experience to set departmental goals which align with functional strategy. Focuses on achievement of departmental goals and plays a significant part in achieving functional goals.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Management responsibility for a team of project managers, providing coaching, performance feedback and general management oversight of performance against objectives
  • Provide, when needed, structured performance improvement plans and manage to resolution
  • Demonstrable conflict resolution skills and ability to build productive and successful relationships within Technology and across our matrix business partners
  • Overall management, tracking and reporting of technology deliverables in support of new business capabilities, ensuring on time and on budget delivery, adherence to compliance and quality standards, and alignment to the strategic objectives of the business case
  • Ensure the adherence of project governance processes, and foster environment of continual process improvement
  • Facilitate project planning with internal teams and strategic partners using standard project plan development methods, including interim milestones, dependency management, and critical path analysis
  • Timely delivery of executive updates, Steering Committee materials, key stakeholder meetings and portfolio/project status reporting
  • Facilitate cross-functional program processes and communications, such as risk and issue management
  • Drive decision analysis and recommendations for portfolio level issues
  • Ensure risk mitigation strategies and contingencies are defined and executed
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial management including actual spend and forecasts for labor, non-labor and strategic partner support; explain cost variances and implement corrective action; track cost risks and cost opportunities
  • Be forward-looking and remove barriers to enable the team to progress per plan
  • Ability to manage and prioritize competing requests and deliverables

Required Qualifications and Demonstrated Skills

  • Healthcare Technology delivery experience with a major health system or insurer required
  • Large-scale vendor and SaaS integrations is required
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field, and a minimum 5 years in a people management role with full human resources responsibility and accountability; 7-10 years in a lead Project Management role within a large, matrixed organization
  • Tangible and demonstrable record of successfully delivering complex, large scale solutions within IT
  • Experience building complex Project and Program artifacts including Project charters, comprehensive project plans, milestone views, status reports, issues, risk and contingency plans, etc.
  • Proven, extensive experience within IT SDLC - including but not limited to:
  • Scope management
  • Quality Management
  • Financial / Budget Management in excess of $6 million
  • Implementation Activities
  • Lifecycle components such as business analysis, design, testing, release management
  • PI Planning
  • Ability to stay very organized while managing multiple tasks and activities
  • Takes initiative and is a self-starter, deals with ambiguity and is skilled at problem solving
  • Senior and Executive leadership presence required
  • Advanced Presentation/Facilitation skills required
  • Negotiation and tactful influencing skills at all levels required
  • Exemplary Written and Verbal Communications and executive level presence
  • Waterfall and Agile Experience required
  • Proficient in MS Office tools
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree
  • Experience with tools such as Clarity PPM, Rally, etc. preferred
  • PMP Certified
  • Scaled Agile Delivery with certification

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 124,600 - 207,600 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
