Infotainment & Connectivity Program Manager
Description
Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. This position requires an employee to be onsite 1-3 times a week.
The Infotainment team is seeking a high-performing Infotainment Program Manager who will be responsible for leading the Infotainment Subsystem development for multi-vehicle, global program launches. As a key contributor to the team, you will collaborate between innovation, systems, and component execution teams to support the delivery of complete Infotainment solutions to a program team. Responsibilities include developing and owning the complete vehicle focused infotainment development plan which aligns all components, software development (in-house and external), validation, back office, marketing, and more guided by the Global Vehicle Development Process. There will be weekly interaction with large groups of people, management and senior leadership where you will be advising, updating and presenting status on key items, milestones and issues.
An ideal candidate will have experience in releasing parts from sourcing to SOP. Knowledge of vehicle program teams and GVDP is preferred with the ability to be dynamic in the daily tasks and work with a high level of independence.
What You Will Do:

- Stay abreast of new technology and competitive products
- Learn and participate in multiple aspects of the GVDP including Component Strategy Sessions from IVER Readiness Reviews to Buy Off Rides and Launch support.
- Develop, implement, and maintain the development schedule that aligns the software, hardware, components, and function releases to GVDP and VeSCoM.
- Prepare, present, and/or support regular program status updates to vehicle program teams, leadership forums, and the global engineering development and validation teams. Topics can range from component feature/function/validation status, build readiness, issue resolution, overall program development status all the way to go-to-market planning.
- Working with and supporting component DREs and Software Domain Leads to make sure the teams are implementing their features on time per the FROP with quality. As well as help breakdown potential issues and provide appropriate support and escalation as needed.
- Coordinate with VSE on potentials, costbook updates, change request responses, component timing plan changes, and program timing changes
- I&C professional and key point of contact for issue status and closure.
- Travel within Michigan, US, and International may occur.
- Build and balance I&C strategies across programs
- Prioritize & participate in requirements peer reviews
- Represent GM in vendor and/or customer contacts
Additional Description
What You Need:
- 3+ years of related experience
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
- Effective communication and social skills required to establish relationships with local and global team members to tackle problems and resolve issues
- Ability to balance multiple complex projects and assignments with a high degree of autonomy and accountability for results
- Strong organizational skills, process oriented complemented with comfort going outside the box to accomplish the tasks and goals.
- Knowledge & understanding of: Electrical commodity product development (eg. IPC/Switch/ECU); I&C or Electrical Systems; OR Interior Component Product Development.
- Knowledge of electrical and electronic circuit operation and automotive hardware interfaces
- Knowledge of Vehicle Development Process timing and key engineering milestones
- Previous experience in Product Development (Example: Systems Engineering, Safety System Eng, Validation, Quality, SQE, Design, Release Eng, or Manufacturing Eng, etc.)
- Comfortable speaking publicly in front of large audiences both in-person and virtually
What Is Even Better
- 5+ years of related experience
- Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering, Business Administration, Finance or equivalent
- Knowledge of following GM systems/databases: PPCR, GM Timing Card, PPCs, SharePoint, IBM Rational Team Concert (RTC)
- Understanding of industry standards including Autosar, CAN, LIN, and automotive Ethernet
- Black Belt DFSS Certification
- Project Management Professional certification
