Optum is seeking a talented and motivated individual to deploy the Optum technology solution to our clients in the healthcare market. The ideal candidate will have successful experience in Health IT systems implementations. This position requires a blend of client management, project management, process and product knowledge, as well as solid analytical, communication, and leadership skills. The candidate should enjoy working with a team, interacting with clients and collaborating with internal staff in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead implementations as the client-facing project manager for complex, multi-phase deployments. This includes the creation, management, and oversight of project plans to achieve high quality, on-time implementations that result in a satisfied and referenceable client
  • Tailoring the implementation process and product configurations to reflect an extensive knowledge of our customers' business process and strategic needs in coordination with product requirements
  • Preparing detailed and accurate status reports on an ongoing basis, mitigating delays to the implementation, and escalating issues to the leadership team when appropriate
  • Tracking major client-specific product deliverables and reinforcing the scope of work outlined in the contract
  • Relentlessly collaborating across, and communicating with, a myriad of external and internal stakeholders while serving as the primary liaison between the client and Optum
  • Working closely with other Deployment Managers to facilitate cross-pollination of client-based learnings and to ensure consistency of the overall delivery model
  • Looking for ways to constantly improve overall Client Services performance including the development and continuous improvement of the methodology

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years project management and system implementation experience
  • 4+ years of healthcare experience
  • 2+ years communicating and presenting with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience with implementation of SAAS products
  • Experience mitigating project risk
  • Experience obtaining product requirements and understanding required client data to successfully lead data mapping activities
  • Experience in EMR data domains
  • Proficient in Excel - pivot table, vlookup, cell/sheet linkage, formulas without supervision
  • Proficient in PowerPoint - translate findings into professional presentation for a variety of stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project management coursework and certification
  • Experience organizing, manipulating, troubleshooting, and analyzing large data sets
  • Experience understanding and translating technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience owning technical client relationships, including recurring relationships, issue resolution, and escalation management
  • Experience working in healthcare industry or experience with HIM and/or Hospital Coding applications
  • Knowledge of software functionality, user navigation and reporting capabilities
  • Proven ability to independently and successfully apply process improvement methods with measurable business performance improvement outcomes

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary/hourly range for Colorado residents is $97,300 to $176,900. The salary/hourly range for Connecticut/Nevada residents is $97,300 to $176,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
