Your Role and Responsibilities

The Project Manager should have a thorough understanding of the nature of business problems across industries, and the products and solutions available that can provide value in solving those problems. The Project Manager manages the delivery of projects of significant size and complexity involving software package implementation and custom development. The individual will leverage expert knowledge across Project Management methodologies to coach and mentor the project team to produce high-quality, on-time, on-budget project deliverables Specifically, the Project Manager is responsible for managing the administration of assigned projects including project definition, project status reporting, project quality and project staffing.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Use consulting skills, business knowledge and package solution expertise to manage and deliver projects in a client environment
  • Build and manage client relationships including C-suite
  • Work with clients to establish project policies, procedures, schedules and plans
  • Drive task level project plans that include requirements, communications, contracts, issue resolution, risk and resource management
  • Manage project financials including cost and schedule variances
  • Ensure project is delivered on-time and on budget
  • Schedule project review meetings
  • Write and distribute weekly reports
  • Administer and approve project time, expenses and reporting
  • Support the sales efforts of Asset Management related services
  • Provide subject matter expertise regarding key decisions related to industry and/or functional area
  • Work cooperatively with other organizations within IBM to accomplish project work in an efficient and quality manner

The desired candidate should have experience in the Travel & Transportation, Retail or Manufacturing industries as well as experience as a Maximo Consultant. A successful candidate is self-confident, self-reliant, and a self starter with the ability to communicate and defend a position credibly. Attention to detail and ability to manage to tight timelines are keys to success. In this role, you will interact directly with clients and will be required to travel.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • At least 4 years experience working with IBM Maximo solutions
  • At least 4 years experience in project management in full life cycle package / solution implementations
  • At least 4 years experience in project management processes, methods and tools
  • At least 5 years experience in creating and delivering project level documentation (i.e. client briefs, reports, etc)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Power Point, Word and Excel
  • Experience working or consulting in the Travel & Transportation, Retail and/or Manufacturing industries
  • Experience working in an organized, structured manner with excellent team communication skills
  • Experience building client relationships with entire project team up through C-suite


Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • At least 8 years experience in project management in full life cycle package / solution implementations
  • At least 8 years experience in project management processes, methods and tools
  • At least 8 years experience in creating and delivering project level documentation (i.e., client briefs, reports, etc)
  • At least 5 years experience in management consulting
  • At least 3 years experience in predictive maintenance processes
  • At least 3 years experience successfully selling or supporting the sales of Asset Management related services
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)
