The Overview:

As a Systems Program Manager for the Fulfillment Operations Support Team, you will be focused on supporting our Fulfillment Operations partners in their use of existing technologies, and delivering new fulfilment center technology and execution tools.  You should have a functional understanding of ecommerce fulfillment operations and deep knowledge of warehouse management systems to help bridge the gap between fulfillment processes and system design.  This role will be heavily focused in the fulfillment center applications design and implementation space. They will provide Subject Matter Expertise for the Warehouse Management System, Labor Management System, Performance Management System, and many other new fulfillment applications.


Our Fulfillment Operations Program Managers plan, coordinate, and direct internal teams to accomplish projects that move FC operations forward.  This individual will be able to work under aggressive timelines and deliver high impact projects in addition to those defined by the business to accelerate our growth.  The Program Manager will be able to partner with operations teams and technical teams and bridge gaps between the processes and skillsets.  They are executors who both perform and define standard work, they are prone to action, and can prioritize getting the right things done that make an impact.  They will be able to define scope of work and project timelines, avoid scope creep, and ensure completion on time and within budget.  They are relationship builders, working best in matrix and cross-functional environments, and able to influence without authority.  This individual is also a central point of communication to all stakeholders and an extremely effective communicator; highly organized with an understanding of all aspects of a project with solid project management skills.


Responsibilities include:

  • Be able to translate Operations needs into business requirements for Software Development Engineers (SDEs), build a project plan, and execute upon the project plan at a very detailed level
  • Develops and executes UAT testing and rollout/delivery of new software to sites of responsibility, which will include key Applications development
  • Creates and delivers effective training on new applications and processes
  • Able to understand and become a subject matter expert on the warehouse management system and drive projects within a highly technical area to improve the integration of systems and process
  • Is a trusted advisor to both Fulfillment and Tech partners on FC processing, system functionality and standard work
  • Able to develop project opportunities and work with operations to define need and potential return on investment
  • Provides first-line support and appropriate escalation in a professional and expeditious manner
  • Ensures smooth and consistent communication and exchanges of data between operations and internal stakeholders
  • Develops scoping documents, business and functional requirement documents and project proposals
  • Assist with design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards to drive key business decisions, sometimes with unfavorable information
  • Monitors project progress, incorporates resolutions to potential project delays and communicates project status to leadership on a timely basis
  • Be able to effectively perform project management in all aspects, including Business Requirements Document (BRD) development, while identifying and holding all cross-functional partners accountable of for deliverables
  • Travel as a Sr. Project Manager is required and depending on the current project assignment(s) could range from 0%-30%

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
    • In Industrial Engineering, Product Management, Operations Management, or other Engineering fields preferred
  • 5+ years technical experience with project management
  • 2+ years functional experience in implementing process changes and managing large-sized complex projects
  • Must have experience and knowledge of warehouse operations and warehouse management systems
  • Strong analytics and communications background (e.g., math, statistics, quantitative methods, and verbal and writing proficiency)
  • Comprehensive computer application skills (Office, SQL), as well prior experience with operational/fulfillment applications (Yard Management System, Labor Planning, etc.)
  • Cross functional team management experience
  • Proven successful execution of business requirements analysis and design
  • History of partnership with warehouse operations leadership, and IT or other technical teams
  • Experience with structured task prioritization and change management processes
  • Record of identifying and recommending operations improvement opportunities to meet ever increasing business requirements

What Separates You from The Pack:

  • Certification or experience in Lean Six Sigma and/or Green Belt
  • Product management or systems design experience
  • Successful systems integration track record
  • Prior experience with operational/fulfillment applications (Yard Management System, Labor Planning, etc.)
