This role requires demonstrated modeling as a strategist, a connector, a mentor or coach, a leader, and a partner to key constituents. It requires gifted skills in relationships, credibility, influencing, team building, trust building and bringing human to end user solutions.

Success will include partnering with Senior Executive Leaders; including strategy and end user experience owners, along with matrix partners, all levels of management, and peers throughout the organization to lead and support both transformational and incremental change, across the organization.

Key characteristics include the ability to deliver on time, flexibility in approach, consensus building, organizational awareness, design for impact and more.

The successful candidate will be an analytical thinker, with the ability to; support project lifecycles, understand business process, perform data assessments and analysis, design and deliver a desired future state, and develop SMART metrics to measure change.

Job Components

The OE Leader is a solutions leader who will have accountability for the following:
  • Utilize established project and program methodology to develop plans for assigned projects, partner with other service team members to drive a thoughtful and simple delivery framework and ensure alignment at all levels and all times through the project/initiative life cycle; Design impactful solutions that are human-centered and desired by the end user ensuring adoption of transformation and incremental change or new products/services.
  • Support the ongoing and continuous improvement of the Solutions Delivery organization
  • Functioning independently or with peers to integrate approved plans into the project WBS as actions/activities/deliverables and milestones;
  • Execute against the approved plans, reporting appropriately on status and effectiveness;
  • Design and lead effective meetings with senior executives, managers, and stakeholders as appropriate;
  • Identify and work to remove barriers that slow or prevent the successful transformational change and operational efficiencies that will lead to cost containment and/or reduction;
  • Work collaboratively with project team members to identify mitigation strategies, take early action to resolve issues and address cross-team impacts, working with appropriate resources including but not limited to Cigna US Medical, Evernorth, cross organizational business efforts or new business areas requested for OE support.
  • When appropriate, provide direct support, consultation and coaching to project peers on same team or within other business units;
  • Participate in delivery of training project methodology best practices;
  • Demonstrate excellent facilitation and communication skills, both written and oral, communicate effectively with senior management, process owners, stakeholders, and other audiences;
  • Model effectiveness process engineering skills, activitites and behaviors during all work efforts (e.g. DMAIC/Lean Six Sigma/DMADV/Design Thinking) helpful
  • Model effective Change Management practice (including methodologies like Prosci) and design with, and for, end users. Proven experience helping end users adopt, utilize and become proficient with new solutions and ways of working helpful.
  • Demonstrate Enterprise and Agile Mindsets.

  • 5 or more years of project management, process engineering, change management or applicable experience. Familiarity with human design a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred; Master's degree a plus.
  • Experience supporting large solutions & change management initiatives in a large scale business environment
  • Experience and broad knowledge of process engineering principles, methodologies, and best practices; Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification is a plus.
  • Proven ability to successfully and sustainably drive organizational change
  • Familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle. Experience with project management (PMP certification) or agile methodology (Scrum) desired.
  • Exceptional communication skills - both written and verbal
  • Strong presentation skills, and ability to communicate effectively with all levels, including training delivery
  • Excellent us of competencies such as active listening skills, strong interpersonal skills, strong leadership skills, comfort with ambiguity, results oriented and courage to influence and execute
  • Works well in a matrix environment, including, with internal associates, project partners, consultants and leadership.
  • Ability to engage and influence at all levels of the organizational structure
  • Ability to easily move between lead role and support role as work is assigned
  • Ability to see the big picture, and operate effectively delivering tactical and strategic objectives
  • Ability to work independently and within a larger project team
  • Demonstrated passion around customer focus and improving processes that impact customer satisfaction
  • Proven ability to develop strong working relationships and establish a high level of credibility across functional lines of business and organizational levels
  • Proven Problem solving and root cause identification skills
  • Strong analytic and decision making abilities
  • Some travel may be required (25% - 35%) although not traveling right now.

This role is Flex/WFH which allows most work to be performed at home or on occasion at a Cigna office location. Employees must be fully vaccinated if they choose to come onsite.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of $110,900 - $184,900, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
