Description
This role provides regulatory compliance leadership across all Electrical and Electronic component product teams. The position facilitates compliance training and working meetings with component engineers and global regulatory coordinators. The role also works with the corporate Product Compliance subject matter experts, both topical and regional, to understand the current and future electrical and electronic regulations.
The senior project team leader is responsible for guiding, training and monitoring engineers with respect to compliance requirements for their devices to ensure that electrical and electronic components can be distributed globally to Caterpillar customers and comply with appropriate regulations.
Job Duties
Job duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Investigating and becoming familiar with global component compliance requirements
Seeking collaboration, guidance, and approvals from subject matter experts on topical and regional regulations and implementation timelines
Simplifying Compliance requirements into actionable checklists
Planning, participating, and leading local and corporate compliance programs
Participating in LEAN process improvement projects
Assist with new product introduction and new market introduction certification and compliance activities.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in an accredited Engineering curriculum
10+ years job related experience in component product development or similar
3+ years of supervisory or team leader experience
Exposure to reliability and development testing
Top Candidates will also have
Experience with prime product or component compliance regulations and standards
Experience with performance, reliability, or compliance testing procedures.
Familiarity with material content regulations such as REACH and RoHS
