About The Role

This role’s vision is to be the glue between various functions within Engineering and with key stakeholders throughout the company, working cross-functionally with global teams to drive and enable execution towards strategic priorities and plans, surfacing critical insights, developing go-to-market and operating models. This role will be responsible for suggesting great best practices and processes and driving adoption across the board. 


The Director of Program Management will build and lead a global team of analysts. In addition to leading key strategic efforts for Engineering and Product, you will work closely with stakeholders in Marketing, Sales and the executive team at Esper.

What You'll Be Doing

  • As a Director of Program Management, you will be responsible for driving large scale cross-functional product initiatives, including defining the strategy and leading the project execution efficiently and effectively 
  • Manage, prioritize, and drive the bigger mission forward by translating business vision into tangible results
  • Push for Operational and Engineering excellence in the team including process definition and implementation. 
  • Incorporate data and analyze metrics that inform the success of product into business decisions 
  • Report on key team metrics at regular cadences and implement course corrections as necessary
  • Inform and manage stakeholders across the organization including Engineering, Product, marketing, Sales, Customer Success as well as the executive team

What We're Looking For

  • 10 + years of experience in product or technical program/operations management 
  • Experience managing technical projects in software engineering
  • 5 + years of experience leading and growing teams within technical program management or equivalent roles
  • The ideal candidate will have a successful track record of managing teams that lead, deliver and integrate complex initiatives with multiple stakeholders, as well as the ability to lead change and communicate with a wide variety of audiences, both technical and business
  • You have the ability to drive large initiatives while also creating project release plans and roadmaps
  • Experience with presenting business and technical content to senior stakeholders, engineers and peers
  • Experience with building great relationships with key stakeholders in all functions of the company
