Our Space & Sensors division is seeking a Director, Program Management. The Director, Program Management is recognized as an external and internal expert and thought leader with deep and substantive technical expertise as well as advanced business knowledge and leadership capabilities. Communicates with contacts inside and outside of the organization on matters of strategic importance to influence executive leadership on new concepts, practices, and approaches. Establishes overall direction for new processes, systems, and solutions. Recommends and implements strategies and develops operational plans/goals with direct impact to the achievement against functional strategies.

Essential Functions:
  • The PM is responsible for building and leading a world class cross-functional/cross-business unit team for the Design, Development, Integration, Test, and Production in support of SPEIR.
  • The PM is the primary interface to the customer and acts as the voice of the customer within the company
  • Develops customer intimacy to proactively deliver contractual requirements, while identifying value added change opportunities.
  • Owns the Profit and Loss leadership and authority to flawlessly deliver the Technical, Programmatic, Financial, and Scheduling elements of the program
  • Developing effective processes and tools to manage and monitor program performance from proposal through program completion
  • Driving successful execution of the Engineering & Development (EMD) and Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP) phases of the program
  • Leading the division's investment strategy, key technologies and technology roadmaps
  • Collaborating with PPSP leadership team developing strategic roadmaps for future Block upgrades and international and domestic applications
  • Leading the resolution of key program issues by breaking down barriers and engaging to address help needed by program leads - items such as TAAs, Export, Global Trade Compliance, Resourcing and Staffing skill sets
  • Ability to develop and maintaining effective working relationships with employees throughout the organization and customers
  • Effectively communicate program status to both customers and leadership.
  • Establish a culture of trust, open communication, data driven decision making, customer focus and relentless continuous improvement


To perform this job successfully, an individual must understand each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 15 years of prior related experience.
  • Requires both advanced business knowledge and a high level of technical knowledge.
  • Leadership capability to guide business or functional teams without formal management role.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage USG development and Low Rate production programs of $200M+
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective program management processes such as Risk Management, Program Planning, Program EAC and Full EVMS.
  • Broad based technical knowledge and experience in order to lead staff in directing design and development activity across multiple engineering functions, including but not limited to Systems, SW,HW, and EO/IR Engineering
  • Experience leading complex developmental programs with rigorous Technology and Manufacturing Readiness assessments
  • Inclusive management style: able to lead and motivate team members and be comfortable with raising issues in a timely manner
  • Very strong business acumen and analytical skills, strong planning and financial analysis skills
  • Superior written and oral communication skills
  • Sound judgment, clear thinking and the ability to prioritize and address multiple requirements in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to establish a culture of trust, open communications, data driven decision making, customer focus and relentless continuous improvement
  • Position may require extensive travel, including international travel up to 25%
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance

Preferred Additional Skills:
  • Graduate Degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
  • TS Clearance with ability to maintain
