Project Overview:

Serves as a Senior Project Manager Lead in support of a major federal client. Assists in leading team that provides engineering and tool/application support to protect major federal agency

Comfortable leading acquisition and implementation of large, multi-year IT implementation efforts.

Job Description:

The Cyber Project Manager position combines strong managerial skills, a solid technical background and excellent customer service skills.

Responsible for implementation of acquisition and implementation efforts for critical cyber systems.

Project management, IT engineering, and experience supporting teams of IT engineers required. The Cyber Project Manager will work in conjunction with the team's technical resources to direct and deliver IT infrastructure projects and operational support within a technically complex and dynamic environment.

Excellent communication skills required to interface with C-level executives, including demonstrated written, oral, and customer service skills.

This position interacts with the primary customer and users of the program, and supports their day to day work by problem solving, researching, and coordinating the efforts of multiple stakeholders.

The role requires project management skills, including:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • CISSP certification
  • Familiarity with ITIL, PMP, Engineering maturity models and best practices
  • Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
  • Establishing and maintaining close working relationship with all stakeholders including federal clients, system end-users, peer IT support groups and vendors.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for coordination and communication of activities relating to mission-critical program within the agency.
  • Coordinate and implement Standard Operating Procedures and change control for infrastructure and application support.
  • Provide operational and project reporting summaries and metrics to key stakeholders on an ongoing and ad-hoc basis.

Required: Basic Requirements

  • Deep familiarity with NIST 800-53 controls and NIST 800-37 Cybersecurity Framework.
  • Project Management experience leading the implementation of hyper-converged solutions or cross-domain solutions and other IT infrastructure technologies.
  • Working knowledge of main IT Infrastructure components (server, storage, network, virtualization, data, cloud, and applications).
  • Understanding of high-level technical architecture; comfortable contributing ideas, facilitating discussion and decisions on technical solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully managing the delivery of multiple concurrent efforts/projects.
  • Excellent leadership and team-building skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including presentation skills and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated integrity within a professional environment.
  • Works on-site 100% of the time with 15% travel required


Desired: Skills: Preferred but not required

  • Applied systems engineering and networking experience and solid background in the system development lifecycle.
  • Experience implementing and supporting mission-specific applications in a client-server architecture within an enterprise.
  • Working knowledge of information security and IT standards such as ISO27002, PCI, NIST, ITIL, etc.
  • MBA, cost analysis
  • Acquisition experience with sole source procurements and FAR Chapters 14 and 15
