About the Role:
This role is for a Manager of Consumer Compliance reporting to the Senior Compliance Officer of Strategic Initiatives. You will develop and oversee a Consumer Compliance Program for Remitly to remain in compliance with laws and regulations related to UDAAP, CFPB Remittance Rule, TILA, SCRA, ECOA, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), and Military Lending Act (MLA). This position will stretch across products and origination countries to provide holistic standards for consumer compliance, including complaints handling, policies and procedures, training, and monitoring and testing. You will maintain close contact with the business and ensuring a culture of compliance within the company.
This role advises and partners with senior Compliance Officers, Legal, business leaders, and the broader teams on the regulatory requirements for all businesses/products, designs appropriate oversight processes, and conducts periodic screening of marketing material. Also, you will have external engagements with our partners, auditors, and regulators.
You Will:
- Design and implement a consumer compliance program, responsive to relevant standards and regulations, including creation and review of relevant policies, procedures, and training
- Design and develop a successful partnership with the product and business teams; advise and counsel on compliance risks and operational regulatory requirements
- Implement a global control infrastructure to support the rollout of new products and service offerings
- Work with partner teams to develop periodic and annual reporting on complaints, including trend analysis and risk mitigation, to senior management on key metrics and the state of the consumer compliance program
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable consumer compliance laws, regulations and policies enforced by the federal and state governments.
You Have:
- 7+ years consumer compliance experience
- Thorough understanding of UDAAP, CFPB Remittance Rule, ECOA, TILA, FDCPA and similar regulations
- Ability to collaborate with regulators, financial partners, and internal stakeholders
- Excellent decision making, analytic, and investigative abilities with attention to detail and accuracy.
